We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Simpson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, what do you attribute your success to?
Consistency and great customer service is one of the most important factors that contributes to the success of our real estate brand. Over the last six years, I have managed to create a super fun brand to go along with selling homes called I Heart Atlanta. Having six successful years where we are continuing to grow each year has allowed us to completely perfect our craft. The way we have done that is fine tuning our systems and models. Not only is our company a well known real estate team (currently in top 4 teams for Keller Williams in Georgia), we are a lifestyle brand. Great customer service has always and will always be our #1 goal. We focus on the needs of our clients first and provide the best communication. We answer our phones, we are accessible, and we are easily able to let our clients know what comes next during their transaction so they are never left in the dark. Our lifestyle brand that goes along with selling homes has allowed us to get recognized all over metro Atlanta by the logo on our for sales signs that pop up all over neighborhoods! Branding and marketing is one of my passions and we stick our logo everywhere! Shirts, mugs, gold brass key chains, candles and more. We are so consistent with our branding for the homes we sell as well as our swag items on social media. We really have way too much fun with it.
What should our readers know about your business?
When I first started in real estate in 2014, I had this grand idea that I would continue working my sales position in the health field and (as a lot of people do) I would sell homes on the side. What I soon figured out was that I could not do both. Almost immediately I began listing homes for sellers and selling homes to buyers. I wanted so badly to have more time to put towards real estate, yet I was super scared to leave my salaried position for the company I worked for. In the fall of 2015, I took the biggest leap of faith and quit my other job to peruse real estate full time. It was very surreal to know that bills keep coming and I now relied solely on myself for a paycheck. I couldn’t believe it, what ended up happening was that I doubled my sales in less than a year. If I could give anyone some advice, I would tell them that you absolutely have to have discipline, smarts, a great idea and if people like you and trust you, you’ll make it in any business on your own. Work hard, focus, and save your money.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is such an amazing place to plant your roots! Whether you are a Georgia native or moving here from out of state, there is so much opportunity here. The weather is amazing and there is so much to do. Atlanta is known for its southern hospitality and you can go just about anywhere and feel accepted and have fun. From Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Ponce City Market, to the Zoo and the Georgia Aquarium these are some of the best family hot spots. For our nightlife there are tons of night clubs in the city near midtown and Buckhead. There are endless bars and restaurants in Atlanta and the metro area that each have their own amazing menus and craft cocktails. A few of my favorites are Two Birds (Marietta), 10 Degrees South (Buckhead) and Paces & Vine (Vinings). We are also getting big into breweries here and my two favorites are Red Top Brewhouse (downtown Acworth) and Restoration Brewery (Woodstock).
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One person that has contributed to my success is my husband and partner David Simpson. He has been in sales and has been extremely successful in that since he was 16. Not only is he the greatest salesman I know, but he is my biggest supporter. David is also an expert at branding and marketing and we bounce ideas off each other every day. His passion for selling homes and making sure he helps me take care of our clients is incredible to watch.
