We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, how do you define success?
Success to me is living life on my terms, breaking glass ceilings being honest with myself and others alike.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work life is a variety of different things as a serial entrepreneur: Let’s start with The Sun Goddess; that is our AirBNB located in St. Pete/Clearwater area.
Then my resin art SoulStyle Resign allows me to be creative artistically. I started creating as a hobby to help me with PPD after my first born and it blossomed beautifully into a business.
I’ve recently started a beautiful sisterhood Sigma Xi Sigma Sorority, Inc based out of Atlanta, Ga. I started this organization because I desired a Sisterhood of women that love and respect each other fiercely while giving back to our local & national communities.
I’m in the beginning stages of opening a coffee shop in the Atlanta area. My goal is to create a laidback coffee where everyone knows your name. To create a space for the community people and local businesses.
The lessons that I’ve learned along the way is to always have a plan A, B, C, & D. Be flexible about your methods to obtain your goal but NEVER change your goal. Stay the course, work hard & trust yourself and in God.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love love love Ponce City Market. Then we’re going to a few of my favorite metaphysical stores: The Honey Pot Art & Energy, Phoenix & Dragon.
Spoken Word at Apache Cafe
A tattoo at City of Ink is always nice for bonding with the bestie.
Little 5 Points in East Atlanta for thrifting
We also can’t forget Tassili’s Raw Reality a vegan restaurant (no I’m not vegan either. lol)
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my wife first. She goes along with my ideas, pushes me to be my best self & even challenges me when I need it. I love her so much. My kids who are my inspiration and who I advocate for daily. It is my hope my legacy makes them proud in all ways. My Mom who is my hero in so many ways: the things she taught me growing up still resonate with me and I say them to myself when times get a little rough. My intimate family & friends that are my safe spaces push me on my darkest days and clap loud for me in my brightest moments. I love them all deeply and immensely.
