We had the good fortune of connecting with Liletta Harlem and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liletta, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Being authentic and true to who I am and my beliefs has been the most important factor behind the success of my business and my brand. There are hundreds if not thousands of businesses that have the same products and services being offered but there is only one “you”. If you bring YOU into everything you do, people will buy into that because they believe in you and your story speaks to them personally.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My overall mission for my company is to create a space for girls and women to feel honored, empowered, and refreshed. This mission has been what has moved me to create beautiful custom gift boxes that empower and refresh under my “Keep The Box” brand. But it’s also allowed me the opportunity to write and publish two books in 2020. Both books highlight the strength and courage of women and allow for the reader to tap into her own strength. I’ve also been able to have speaking engagements, and coaching opportunities to help women change the way they see themselves so that they can change self limiting toxic behaviors. Last, I’m proud of my web video series entitled Pivotal Moments with Liletta. This series is something I created that allows for guests from around the world to share their own stories of growth and the pivotal moments that changed their lives or helped them on a path to success.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to my favorite local coffee shop-Jirani Coffeehouse. Then I would show them around Old Town Manassas and last swing by Vibe-The Healthy Spot for a quick healthy delicious tea.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people that have contributed to my success both professionally and personally. If I have to select just one, I’d have to shout out Vanessa Holloway of Jintara LLC a plant based company specializing in natural products for the body and home. Vanessa has been one of the biggest supporters from purchasing products, to giving feedback on my vision and just being that sista girlfriend that I can always call when I feel like giving up on myself or my dreams.
