We had the good fortune of connecting with Li Da9o and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Li, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Albany, Georgia and I graduated from Worth County High School in Sylvester, Ga, not too far away from me. I definitely thank all my teachers and mentors I was able to establish relationships with before I left. As a child I used to spend a lot of time with my grandma and aunty on my stepdad side when my mom had to work while I was out of school. I can’t really remember too much about then, but they overly loved me. They definitely helped my parents shape me into the man I am today. Ima forever be a grandma baby. As I got older, I started to spend time with my “bio” dad side of the family, majority of it on holidays. Growing up my biological father was hardly involved in my life. It used to hurt here and there cause it’s like, i’m your son so you should wanna go hard and be in my life you know? My grandma, his mom, picked up on everything he slacked. I don’t really trip off it cause my Stepdad took the role as my father and did what he had to. Shoutout to him. My OG did everything she could as well along with the help of her mom, Lord knows I wish I could repay them for everything. I thank my sister too, strongest girl I know. Majority of the people I know I played a lot of sports with or went to school with. I used to play almost every sport we had..Basketball,Cross Country, Track,Football, and the rest just for fun so the mentality and grind always been in me. Where i’m from it’s very small and local so it’s very easy to get tired of seeing the same environment and people everyday. It get to the point where it’s repetitive. Watching and knowing a lot of people doing nothing for their future ain’t never settle right with me. Im the type where if I feel caged and trapped I gotta break out, and that’s what I did. Very few thought I’d be HIM, but I love being the underdog. Always have been.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My parents never really just forced or pushed me to do anything which allowed me to form the mentality I have and separate me from others. Everything I’ve earned and achieve come solely from me holding myself to a high standard. Rapping came along the way. I always knew how to rap and had a thing for it, but I never just took it seriously how I am now. Something that sets me apart from a lot of other people is my faith in God and dedication. Before I got in the Music Industry I made a clothing brand. Having to manage it taught and made me realize a lot on the professional side of things. I do want to give a special shout out to a former teacher of mine, Mr.Touze, for shaping a lot of the character traits and skills that i’ve perfected. I wouldn’t know a lot of what I do to be in this position I am if it wasn’t for him and his wife, Mrs.Touze. As well as my other counselor Mrs.Williams. The level of success i’ve acquired definitely wasn’t easy. It took a lot of trials and tribulations to get where I am, and I really want to praise God for keeping me grounded. Im always humble. Don’t ever think it can’t be you because it can. Something I want the world to know is that I won’t ever sellout. God favor me too abundantly for me not have integrity and respect for myself. In addition, i’m here to serve others. I want my music to be an escape or some type of freedom to my audience. I want it to empower them in every aspect possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Kennesaw so I don’t really visit the city often. Plus, i’m new to Atlanta so I really don’t know. I definitely want to go sky
top eating though. When i’m scrolling on tiktok I be seeing a lot of small black owned food places in the city I want to shop from. When I blow up I want to try every food spot I done seen. You know, especially to put my people on the map and get them recognition. I definitely gotta look into some more stuff in the city to do though besides eat.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my Heavenly Father God and my brother Jesus first. I also want to shoutout my Parents, Sister, Grandparents, Teachers, Coaches, Mentors, My childhood church, The small group of friends I have, Strangers that believe in me, and all my haters.
