Meet Letrevious Wright: Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Letrevious Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Letrevious, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It chose me. Creativity is a gift that I was blessed with at an early age, so it was only right for me to view art as more than just a hobby.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an all around artist who happens to rap. I don’t like to be labeled or boxed into the category of rapper because I know I’m much more than that, and the abilities I possess justify my reasoning. I’m capable of telling stories with ease because of my background in writing, and I’m able to bring these stories to life due to my background in theatre. A perfect combination in my opinion. Authenticity is what I believe separates me from the rest. I don’t conform to opinions and create songs based off of what’s popular. I do what I feel like doing. That’s the difference. Along the way I’ve learned that talent is only going to get you so far. I’ve been in many rooms just because of my talent alone, but I’ve created relationships and networked with executives based off of who I am as a person. That’s also what I want the world to know about me and my artistry. I’m always going to remain true, genuine, and honest to who I am regardless of critics.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is a place of vibes and feelings. There’s no set itinerary. You may wake up wanting to learn more about the fight for social justice and want to visit the King Center. You may want to attend a United game or go to view some of the exhibits at the aquarium. There’s so much to choose. It’s all about how you’re feeling.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My good friend & producer, Ivan. Without him I would’ve never entered the recording studio. Therefore I’m not where I am today. Most importantly I have to give credit to God. I’m truly thankful for the gift that he’s blessed me with.
