Hi Lawrence, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
There is a saying that “without risk, there is no reward.” When you own a business, you will have to take a lot of risks without knowing what the reward would be. Some risks may be beneficial, while others may be detrimental, but you’ll never know unless you take the risk. When you take a risk and receive no benefit, it is not the end of the world; but, you cannot have a successful business without having failed risks, and you learn from many of those risks. I take risks practically every day when working with different cars. The cars I work on are quite valuable, and some of them are my first time working on them.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
One of the problems and challenges I had to overcome was attempting to differentiate my car wash business from any other car wash service. I’ve been repairing automobiles since I was eight years old, and I’ve always been good with my hands. So, in order to stand out and establish a name for myself, I decided to combine my three skills: working on vehicles, washing/detailing cars, and installing automotive accessories. The second challenge I had was finding enough time throughout the day. That will most likely be my most difficult challenge, because remaining at a job for an extended period of time might either hinder or benefit me. What separated me from the others was that I’m a young teen who was able to manage a business while still attending school. I’m also doing more than just washing cars. I want people to understand that Ldawg’s Carwash is not just any carwash.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d bring my best friend to the putt shack. Putt shack is a miniature golf course in three dimensions. It mixes the pleasure of playing miniature golf with the most recent technological breakthroughs of 2022. It introduces a new culture to an ancient sport that some may find tedious. Overall, it’s a terrific opportunity to bond. Also we will certainly tour the major malls. Honestly, whenever I return to Atlanta from a trip, I always stop for some American Deli, so I figure it’s only right that I take my out-of-town best friend there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My father (Richard) and my brother (Philip) are the two people I’d like to recognize. My father may not realize it, but I look up to him when it comes to running a business. He owns an automotive mechanic shop. I see how he manages his business and am constantly picking up information. I also use those tips to help me manage my business. Without my brother Philip encouraging me to do new things and reminding me not to give up on my business, I wouldn’t be where I am now. When I decided to do something new on a car that I’d never done before, Philip offered me his car so I could practice on before working on anyone else’s car.
