We had the good fortune of connecting with L C Mungin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi L C, has the Coronavirus Crisis changed how you think about work life balance?
It has changed my outlook a lot. We take granted the everyday liberties we have to move about freely and do the things that bring us pleasure. This quarantining period has truly been an eye opener. It was a way for me to see I needed to humble myself again and be grateful for the simple things. Life is a blessing and as long as we are blessed to wake up everyday then we can learn to adjust to the changes of the world. During this time I spent time with my son and family while being able to work from home. I enjoy working from home a lot better. Not only have I saved a ton of money not having to pay for food and gas but my anxiety and stress from travel has decreased. I can see myself working from home permanently moving forward.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
During the “quarantine period” I finally pursued a venture I had been putting off for years. I attended Real Estate School and am now a Licensed Real Estate agent. I truly had to discipline myself to commit and study. I studied harder for this than I did in undergrad. It all paid off and I am Licensed. My advice to others is to don’t ever give up on something you truly want to pursue, no matter how long it takes or how much time has passed. Don’t let it deter you from reaching your full potential.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in Metro Atlanta there are so many different things to do. I love to attend various sporting events. From baseball, basketball and soccer I love the atmosphere of the fans. When friends come in town and want to hang out I like to take them to different lounges and roof top spots. The view of the City at night is beautiful.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Ever since launching the show I gained a lot of support from various people. In turn, my show has helped me learn a lot about myself and the things that I needed to work on in my professional and personal life. With the support of my mentors I have accomplished a lot and set plans in motion. A big shout out to my mentor Shona Brantley for assisting me in my personal growth, her guidance helped me to conquer obstacles that were stunting my growth. From workshops, to conferences, to trips to Canada and social outings she has truly been a motivating force in my life. Our mentor/mentee relationship was recognized with the “Emerald Ladies Guiding Light Mentoring Award”; from our Sigma Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. The relationship we have formed has truly been a blessing. My other mentor I would like to recognize is Rita Fasina-Thomas. We were joined together as a part of the “Douglasville Chamber of Commerce NextGen Mentor Program”. She is a business owner who has guided me in my professional growth. Our meetings and conversations have helped me focus on professional pursuits I have been wanting to do for some time. It was time to stop putting things off and put things in motion. Not only has Rita lended her professional expertise she has also provided advice and guidance in the areas of mental health. She has helped me focus on eliminating stress and anxiety. Her methods help me keep a healthy work/life balance.
