We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristy Rene’ and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristy, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My end goal is to be on a ranch in the country, living off my land with my children and family. My end goal is to leave a legacy to pass on. Thats what all of this is for. I plan to accomplish this by building up my assets in real estate and continuing to expand my current empires.

What should our readers know about your business?
I own a creative company called The Lemon Orchard Co where we specialize in all aspects of the creative arts. This includes but is not limited to creating aesthetics, coordinating events, theatre and film design, and fashion. We even have a branch catering to business solutions where I provide professional tax services, classes, and more. We offer a collection of attractions to rent for events as well as in house decor, props and back house for productions, and custom garments from t-shirts to prom gowns. Aside from the creative arts my umbrella company is home to a cosmetic line, owned by my daughter. where she makes and sells lip gloss and accessories for young girls.

I started my business in 2016 at the age of 21. I had just given birth to my daughter. At the time I decided to start a business was working as a nurse but wanted more. I was always very creative growing up, so I wanted to be creative and make money. My first trial event was my daughter’s 1st birthday. I thought to myself “I can do this and save money” so I did. I initially begin promoting my business as a gift shop and from there I was able to scale to what has now become a fully functioning creative company offering a plethora of services. Of course, nothing worth having comes easy. I had many setbacks and many teachable moments. By year 4 I was forced to relocate my business after losing my home in a hurricane. Starting over in a brand-new place was challenging. However, by use of leveraging my savvy mindset I was able to create a lane for myself and have found success in doing so. I had to be self-sufficient and self-motivated in order to see the outcome I desired, and I knew by remaining consistent I could execute any goal.

Since becoming an entrepreneur, I have learned so many valuable lessons. The most valuable lesson I can share with my audience is to try to remember that nothing happens to you, because everything happens for you. Meaning there is a reason for every season and there is something to take away from every experience. Lean into that thought process when you feel like giving up. This will allow you put things into perspective from new angles.

If my story shall be remembered for anything it would be my resilience. My never-ending courage to stive forward into the unknown despite past life battles. I like to say, when life hands me lemons, I turn them into millions; and that is the power of my perspective. Harness your power!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh, this is an interesting question. I haven’t lived in Atl very long, it’ll be 3 years this June, so I haven’t been many places for fun. However, one place I’ve visited that will always be a favorite of mine is the waterfalls in Roswell. There is a nice hiking trail, beautiful scenery and then of course the waterfall itself which you can actually indulge in. I call it The Amazon. It’s perfect for all vibes whether you want to sun watch on the big rocks or picnic in nature it’s the perfect getaway.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to pay homage to my village of family, friends, mentors, and loyal clientele. They know who they are. I would not be where I am today without their support and love.
