We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristin Cowart Pierce and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristin, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I have always worked full-time, but I fully believe my most important role is being a mother to my son and daughter. We go to school, pursue internships, train for our jobs, but there’s no training for being a parent other than life experience. My husband and I decided early on that our children were not going to be overprotected or overindulged. We believe strongly in teaching our kids to be self-reliant, resourceful, ethical and compassionate — and we wholeheartedly embrace the concept of “grit.” Early in my days of motherhood, I read “The Blessing of a Skinned Knee” — a book highlighting the concept that it’s ok to let your kids fail now, while the stakes are low, so they learn to pick themselves back up and work through the failures. I also recently wrote my own children’s book entitled “Mommies Work,” which helps explain to little ones where working moms go during the day, why they choose to pursue a career and that taking care of them is the job moms love most. It’s part education for children and part love letter to working moms everywhere!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I believe our team embodies the ideal combination of heart and hustle — and we work hard to build strong relationships with media to best tell our clients’ stories. BRAVE PR was recently named one of America’s Best PR Agencies by Forbes (2021) and was tapped as one of Atlanta’s 20 Largest Public Relations Firms by the Atlanta Business Chronicle (2021).
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d be sure to stay at the Bellyard Hotel, one of West Midtown’s newest, hippest hotels (also a BRAVE client!). The rooftop view is one of the most beautiful places to check out Atlanta’s sunsets. And, I may be biased, but if you’re visiting the South, you need to try our chicken salad. Chicken Salad Chick has many locations in and around Atlanta and offers the best (and largest variety) of chicken salad… once you try it, you’ll be hooked! I’d check the calendar to see what’s coming to the Fox Theatre, because any show performed at the Fox is a magical one. If littles were visiting, I’d take them down to Children’s Museum of Atlanta — one of the country’s best children’s museums and an Atlanta gem. Finally, on the weekend, I would head to the Peachtree Road Farmer’s Market in the Cathedral of St. Philip lot – a buzzy hive of local farmers, entrepreneurs and artisans who sell their goods each Saturday morning. It’s fun to grab a coffee or tea and just walk around, sample, shop and support!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout has to go to my husband who is my secret weapon in allowing me to be a working mom, a business owner and a leader to my team. My story is a complicated one — with lots of moving parts between motherhood, work, travel and the unpredictable, yet inevitable client crises. He actively participates in helping me manage our kids’ lives and schedules, which allows me to have a professional career and the bandwidth to dedicate time and energy to my team and BRAVE PR’s clients. I simply couldn’t do it without him!
