We had the good fortune of connecting with Kilita Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kilita, how does your business help the community?
Being a motivational speaker has had an huge impact on others. During my time helping with the community, I found myself healing others with my past experiences. A lot of people think that no one else goes through the same life situations as they do and my words speak positivity and life and it has helped a lot of people tremendously.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My proudest moment is when I finally let go and let God. Being a motivational speaker and model was not easy at all. I had to overcome many challenges and my own personal thoughts. The most important lesson that I have learned is that you must always remain true to yourself. Everyone won’t cheer for you but as long as you are dedicated and focused skies the limit!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My Favorite spot to hit in the city would have to be the Ponce City Market! You can shop, eat and have fun playing games and there is an amazing view of Downtown Atlanta. The customer service is awesome and they are fun and helpful! The whole vibe is refreshing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to credit Ms. Pearl with the pearl modeling agency! She has been a true inspiration to me. She helped me flourish in my modeling career and also helped me with my confidence to speak to others and share my story.
