We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiara Crowder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiara, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The past two years of my life, being a upcoming lash technician, taught me the importance of risk taking. I remember before I started my own business, so many of my friends and family doubted me. Although my mindset has always been that sometimes you have to do what you think is best for you, deep inside I also doubted myself.

Without learning the important of risk taking, i probably wouldn’t have ever come to the decision that working a 9-5 on someone else’s time for the rest of my life maybe wasn’t for me. After a year of trying to balance out a full time job during the Covid-19 with barely any pto or vacation time needed for my five year old son and I.. the time finally came. It was such a risk taking opportunity to move on to the next chapter in my life!

It’s been one year since I became one of Atlanta’s best, full time, Lash Technician and Educator of Ki Amore Lash Extensions. My advice to anyone reading this is to never give up on your dreams! When you feel in your heart that you’re ready for more in your life, don’t let anyone hold you back, take it as a door to go after your dreams.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
-What is the most important factor behind your success/the success of your brand?

Just like anyone else trying to start a business for themselves, it took a while to decide if this was the best choice for me and my family. I often had skeptical thoughts about not having the support that I needed to get my business out there or the adequate clientele needed to make my business progress. My only anticipation now is to continue mastering my skills as a lash tech and do everything I can do to keep my business booming.

What is the most important factor behind your success/the success of your brand?

Three words; Consistency, dedication, and patience. Those three words are the most important factors behind my success. Within the business industry you must have the patience to grow and change levels of your life you may or may not have reached before. You must have the dedication to have faith in your business and never give up, even if it seems the whole world is against you. You must keep the same consistency throughout your business practices to help your business grow more and more each day. This plays a big role on the way you interact with your customers, marketing strategies, and the unique way you brand. Retaining these three secret sauce factors helped me to grow my business and now you can grow yours too!

What’s the end goal? Where do you want to be professionally by the end of your career?

Within the next five years, I have a few goals I want to achieve for myself. Of course, the potential six-figure income, flexible hours, and ability to be my own boss sounds amazing but I don’t want my career to just stop there. Professionally one of my main goals is to cut the ribbon at my own big shop, with some amazing assistance’s that support me in every way. As I continue on my journey to educate aspiring lash artists, I would love to travel the world to educate while making my brand global. The ultimate goal I have for myself and for Ki Amore Lash Extensions is to completely master my position as a Lash Technician because you can never be too perfect in anything that you do. Always remember practice makes perfect.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you’re visiting Atlanta check out the Atlanta Breakfast Club. They have great food and great prices. I highly recommend.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m originally born in Nashville, Tennessee. I know right! Definitely a country girl. My family and I moved to Atlanta when I was 9 years old. When you talk about how my upbringings impacted me, I instantly think of my Mom! Being my greatest blessing in life, she has always worked so hard to provide protection and maternal love for her kids. What a phenomenal woman she is, as she raised 3 beautiful girls. Not once did I ever see her give up. She taught me to be independent. She taught me to hustle before anything else. Most of all she taught me that even when life isn’t working in your favor at that moment, to keep going! As I get older, I’m now more appreciative in the key role my mom has on my life as I shape my identity into a self owned business.
