We had the good fortune of connecting with Kesha Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kesha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Growing up plus size sometimes could be rough. When I started modeling my confidence became bigger than ever. I knew other women felt the same way I did, so I decided to make a change. I opened up Lace Kouture Boutique. Which stands for Love Acceptance Conquers Everything!!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Lace Kouture Boutique which stands for Love Acceptance Conquers Everything. Is a online clothing boutique. We represent beauty and unity; allowing every woman no matter how curvy know that she is beautiful inside and out. Be comfortable in the skin your in and never change who you are to please anyone but yourself. I’m excited about the confidence in the ladies who comes and shop with us. My customers are more like family. I stepped out on faith and kept pushing. It’s not easy but the key is to never give up on your vision. We all have a purpose and when you find it push and master it. Anything you want you can have it speak it and watch it unfold before your eyes. There are days I want to give up but I have people watching and I refuse to do. They will never think it’s okay to give up because my kids and my mom in here somewhere I have learned that not everyone was sent to be apart of where you are going and it’s okay if they begin to fall off. I’m so grateful for DCCC small business center and just doing my own research. have received a lot of gems from some amazing people. Martha Berry owner of  I’MarE Boutique I’m so proud of pulling off my first expo on Juneteenth in Atlanta with over twenty vendors. Our brand is more than just a boutique were about supporting and helping other brand connect with like minded individuals. I’m here to help our communities build capital and break generational curses.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely hit up Suite Lounge the energy in there is so amazing. Check out downtown and shop local. Visit a few museums.
