We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendra Golden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendra, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Creativity has always been in my DNA. From the moment I was 5, I was drawing up mockups for dream houses with crayons and markers, laminating them with tape (lol)! I even won a few coloring contests as a kid. That passion for creating things visually followed me through high school and even into early college, where I initially pursued a degree in mass communications.

However, fear got the best of me in college. I switched gears and went into speech language pathology because it felt like the “safer” option. For the past 10 years, I’ve been a dedicated speech language pathologist, but that creative spark never truly went out. It’s been growing stronger and stronger lately, and that’s what ultimately led me to start my behind-the-scenes content creation business. It feels incredible to finally be embracing the creative side I almost left behind.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a wedding content creator, I capture the raw, behind-the-scenes energy of weddings in a way that’s become increasingly popular. It’s a relatively new concept, but the idea resonates with modern couples who want their guests to be present and enjoy the moment, yet still capture those fleeting, candid moments you might miss otherwise.

Unlike traditional videography, where you might wait weeks for the final product, I deliver captivating short-form content (like Reels and TikTok videos) within 24-72 hours. This lets you relive the emotions and joy of your day instantly!

But it’s not just about pointing and shooting. There’s a technical side to it as well. From mastering equipment like gimbals to editing to music and crafting compelling captions, it takes practice and attention to detail. Also, But staying on top of trends keeps things exciting and pushes me to learn more every day.

It’s a new and growing field, and I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of it at the ground floor. I can’t wait to see how wedding content creation evolves and shapes the way we capture special memories in the years to come.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh that’s easy! For a fun-filled day with a friend visiting, I would start with brunch at Buttermilk Kitchen. Their chicken biscuit with house red pepper jelly is my favorite (they make a GOOD mimosa too!) If they’re interested in some outdoor activity, a stroll along the Beltline is a great way to see the city and people-watch. But if they prefer something else, visiting a museum or exploring a local park are also great options. For dinner, Poor Calvin’s is a fantastic choice for its unique fusion cuisine. They offer a creative twist on asian and southern flavors and their drinks are a 10 out of 10! To end the night on a sweet note, Cafe Intermezzo is a popular spot for delicious cheesecakes and lattes, and the peachtree location has the best vibes on a saturday night.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My fiancé and parents deserve a lot of credit and recognition. From the moment I shared my dream of starting a wedding content creation business, they have been incredibly supportive and enthusiastic. Their belief in my vision and their constant encouragement have been invaluable. My brother and sister-in-law have also been amazing cheerleaders. As someone new to the industry, I often struggle with imposter syndrome, but their unwavering support gives me the confidence to keep pushing forward. I am truly grateful to have them in my corner.

Additionally, I’m so thankful for the help and advice from both my old and new friends. They’ve been there for me, offering moral support and pitching in with ideas and tasks as I’ve launched my business. And I’ve been lucky to connect with experienced professionals in the industry who’ve shared their wisdom and guidance, helping me learn and grow as I navigate this new venture.
