We had the good fortune of connecting with Keiara Hayes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keiara, what do you attribute your success to?
My achievement was mostly attributed to a vision and genuine passion. I have been able to maintain consistency in my profession because of my passion, which has also motivated me to research and discover new methods and approaches to teaching it. When my business first started in 2020, all I knew how to do was what I had learned from weight training in high school. I excelled in weight loss transformations and had gotten over 100 clients in that period. I thought that was plenty, but then I had associates who wanted to put on weight as well, and all I knew how to do at the time was lose weight. I contacted an online trainer, and she provided me with mentorship. My mentor advised me to alter my perspective if I wanted to be successful. I went back to the drawing board and did additional study on the goals that my clients had requested so that I could address a variety of issues with my business. At this same period, I made a plan and committed myself to adhere to my own program consistently. Online content is such a major part of business success these days. Initially, when I would post anything on social media and got no response, I used to feel depressed. I then took a break from posting and stopped for my mental health. This hindered my gym from getting the exposure needed to promote my business. I took social media classes that reiterated what I knew about business promotion.
So from that point I began to readjust everything and continued to remind myself of my vision and goals. I became self-disciplined, self-reliant, and focused only on myself in my content. My program attracted a lot of attention and interest because of my very own transformation. My business took off as a result of my increasing content counts, but more so because my passion never wavered. It was not just any vision; it was a vision from God for me to support my community mentally, emotionally, and physically. When I heard one of my clients remark, “This is not just a gym, it’s a community and a family,” I realized I was truly successful. Every day, I make the decision to keep going on this path for The Bull Lab Family and my community.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I had no money, no plan, and no experience when I first started my business. I began the entrepreneurship process after hearing what God had to say, regardless of my circumstances. I was still anxious about other people’s thoughts and negative criticism. When I first began, I had customers come to me and talk about their experiences in the past. I set out to hear the bad things and turn them into something good. I did not want to be the absentee trainer. I didn’t want to be that trainer that ignored the demands of its clientele. My ability to listen to my clients and make the necessary adjustments is what sets me apart from the others. It can be challenging at times because you can’t meet everyone’s requirements. However, I make it my goal at The Bull Lab to provide everyone with the freedom to be who they are and to provide a safe place for that very reason. I’ve created safe zones for them to take a minute at my gym if you need to weep, pray, or simply take a deep breath. We don’t evaluate anyone’s development in my gym. We are family and community funded here at the Bull Lab. We exchange ideas and support one another in a variety of ways. The Bull Lab supports other neighborhood companies and gives back to the neighborhood by holding community, youth, and women’s empowerment events.

The challenges I encountered had to be viewed as a barrier, and if God didn’t think I could succeed, he wouldn’t have placed me in those circumstances. I overcame them, obtained advice, and then proceeded in a more positive light. I’ve learned that trying to please everyone is impossible. The doors I am supposed to walk through will be the ones that God has built for me, provided that I show up, work hard, and prioritize God first.

I want everyone to realize how important mental health is, and how closely related mental health and fitness are to one another. Physical fitness is the foundation of your spiritual well-being. My purpose is to let women know we don’t have to sacrifice ourselves in order to provide for our families. Exercising boosts our self-esteem and enables us to be our best selves for our families as well as ourselves. You can maintain your form and fitness by making a strategy that works for your lifestyle and following it. It’s critical to pay attention to your body, comprehend its demands, and treat yourself with kindness as you go. Finding what fits your body type and embracing body positivity are essential to feeling complete and self-assured.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank Pastor Reverend Edward J. Heath for speaking this career path over me and for being a part of my success story. I would want to thank Alexandreia Graham for being a wonderful friend and for motivating me to begin this path by pointing me in the direction of meeting the needs of our community. I also want to express my gratitude to my parents, Lakisha Deariso and Keith Hayes, for supporting me greatly during this process and being there for my kids when I needed them. In addition, I want to express my gratitude to my pastors, J. and T. Johnson, for inviting me into their church and providing me with the support and direction I needed along the way. They demonstrated to me the necessity of placing God first in my life. Finally, but just as importantly, I want to express my gratitude to my fiancé, Deshon Watson, for supporting me throughout the past three years, especially on the days when I felt like giving up. I’m grateful to each and every one of you for being a rock during this journey.
