We had the good fortune of connecting with KeAndrea Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KeAndrea, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote is “ Broken crayons still color”. This quote was first introduced to me by a friend when I started battling my depression. This quote offers motivation in the simplest forms. No matter what you are you are going through, you still have a purpose. You were created on purpose and with a purpose, so keep going and keep coloring.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have my hands in so many pots, but most recently, I graduated with a Master’s in Counseling. My love for helping others stems from my own battles with mental health. Along with my degree, I am currently revamping my business, MisLabeled. MisLabeled is geared towards encouraging individuals to explore mental health, people’s stories and going against stereotypes. Getting to this place has been a roller coaster. I’ve cried and wanted to quit more times than not. Learning how to run a business and trying to achieve my degree has not been easy, but I was taught that nothing is easy. I know that mental health is serious and I know that my purpose is to help people, so I had to stay focused!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being from Atlanta, I’ve seen everything. I’d definitely take my friends to walk some trails, because I love nature. It is a must that we visit some historic sites, such as Auburn Avenue and Dr. King’s home, I love museums and art, so the High Museum and the National Center for Human and Civil Rights will also be on our tour. The Ferris Wheel , Centennial Park, the Botanical Garden, and the Georgia Aquarium are also some of my favorites. Lastly, what is Atlanta or any tour without brunch? We’d have to have brunch at Fin and Feathers or Boogalou.. we love bottomless mimosas and good music.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This shoutout is dedicated to God, my family, my friends, my “headache”, and a very special young woman that I recently lost. The way that God has blessed me with such a supportive circle reminds me that he loves me with no bounds. His love for me is shown through these humans every single day and my heart is grateful. Thank you for pouring into me and bringing out the best in me.
