Meet Katie Jones: Art Gallery Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Katie, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of your brand is knowing your community. If there is one thing I have learned over the past year and a half, it is that making connections is everything! I have met many people to thank for their willingness to go out of their way to advise me as a young entrepreneur. It is also important to take risks and not be afraid to go after your dreams. After all, the worst someone can tell you is “no”.
What should our readers know about your business?
Buckhead Art & Company is an art gallery located in The Shops of Buckhead. As the gallery owner, I am most proud of the artists that I represent. I am always excited to see what they are working on and bringing into the gallery next! As a young entrepreneur, I am taking it one day at a time. It has not been easy, but I know that each challenge is a part of the story. The most important lessons I have learned are to stay calm, take risks, and be genuine. I want the world to know my artists and their stories because they are the reason I want to be at work every day. Every artist is so unique, and how they work together is what makes Buckhead Art & Company so meaningful to me.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I always have a good time meeting up with friends on the Beltline. It’s nice to have a cocktail at Lady Bird and then to walk down to New Realm. I love listening to live music and it’s always fun to see what’s playing at Chastain. On the weekend.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my Shoutout to Jason Halliburton. Jason is my Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch. He accidentally walked into Buckhead Art & Company while roaming in The Shops of Buckhead one day. I have never met a person that connects people as much as he does. Jason introduced me to Tina Fowler, the Founder of Polo in the Pines, this past year. Because of this connection, Buckhead Art & Company had the opportunity to be a part of Polo in the Pines this past year and give a portion of sales to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. We look forward to next year as it’s an event you won’t want to miss!
