We had the good fortune of connecting with Kate Kordsmeier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kate, what do you attribute your success to?
I empower my students with actionable advice and inspirational content to help them make their dreams of being their own boss a reality. It’s the exact, step-by-step system I used to grow Root + Revel into a six-figure business in just three years. And I did it all without selling my soul (i.e. I stayed true to myself, put authenticity and integrity first, alongside my readers’ best interests, and provided the most value possible to my tribe!). Speaking of soulful business… I’ve been self-employed for over 10 years now, and while taking strategic action is important, mindset is perhaps the most integral part of a successful business. So I always strive to provide my readers, students and coaching clients with holistic business advice. In fact, my podcast, Success with Soul, launched in April 2020 so we can really dive deeper into these very topics. I work from a place of rest, not hustle. I value time with my family, taking care of the one body I’ve been given, and helping others, above any profits, fame, or fortune. And I’ve found that it’s these very principles that have allowed me to find true, sustainable success as an online entrepreneur.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
You may recognize me from my holistic wellness blog, Root + Revel, or my podcast, Success with Soul, or some of my other programs like 21 Days to Impact and the Six-Figure Blog Academy. While I built a multiple-six-figure online business from scratch in 4 years, I’m more proud of the fact that I did so while: – showing up every day as a loving partner to my husband, Matt – taking plenty of time for self-care, nourishing my body + rest – bringing two beautiful babes into this world (being a mom to Jackson (2.5) and Gemma (9 months), easily my best achievements). Yup, in 2020, amidst a global pandemic, social justice uprising, and what can only be described as a disruptive election season, I had a baby, took a four-month maternity leave AND more than doubled my revenue to nearly $500,000 working LESS than ever before (did I mention I had no childcare?!). Most recently, I’ve launched my latest program, The Success With Soul Incubator. It’s a high-touch group coaching program complete with personalized feedback + actionable trainings for ALL women and anyone wanting to harness the power of the divine feminine. Just as women are creators and give birth to life, the Incubator will help you bring new life into your business that’s aligned with your soul’s purpose and makes a positive impact in peoples’ lives AND in your bank account. You can have both!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a great question and also kind of hard to answer since I haven’t gone out very much because of the pandemic! Having said that, in The Before Times, I really loved taking a walk on the Beltline to Ponce City Market where I would grab a quick bite at my favorite Indian spot there, Botiwalla. After doing that, I’d take them to Modern Mystic which is a gorgeous metaphysical goods shop also at Ponce City Market. Other places I love in Atlanta are Umi in Buckehead for THE best sushi in town and Lark & Sparrow, a non-toxic, eco-conscious nail salon in the Ormewood Park neighborhood. Lastly, I loved going to Core Power to practice hot yoga! I also have a wellness guide on my blog Root + Revel that I sharedof all my favorite wellness spots around town!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my Shoutout to Amy Porterfield who has been my biggest inspiration. Taking her Digital Course Academy was such a game changer for me! And now, having a digital course business has definitely upleveled my business and brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars in income that I otherwise would not have made. I learned so much of it from her and credit so much of my success to her!
