Meet Kamille Gilmore | Celebrity Choreographer, Pro RollerSkater, Studio owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kamille Gilmore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kamille, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My dance studio, Kameo Productions is a multi-faceted community safe haven. Students can attend afterschool academy, summer camp, classes, workshops, and more. We have been a pillar in the community for over 15 years where students have gone to obtain college scholarships and tv and film opportunities.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
After being hit by a drunk driver 9 months pregnant I was told I wouldn’t be able to type after my wrist was torn and hanging. I was told I may be paralyzed. After birthing my son who is now 21. I took a couple of hundred dollars and opened up a dance school in an abandoned classroom. I started Rollerskating to get mobility and peace during a divorce. And from there I got really good, found my voice and have gone onto fuse entertainment and Rollerskating together. I have been featured in the Super Bowl, Baby Driver, Step Sisters, Drum line and more. I want everyone to know that you can start over, at the bottom, and with God all things are possible.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would bring them to Atlanta my hometown.
Monday- Belt line and slutty Vegan
Tuesday- Spa, R Thomas, and Atlantic Station
Wednesday- the real milk and honey and skating
Thursday- kameo Productions skate class and superica
Friday – high museum, aquarium , and your vitamin lady
Saturday – your 3rd spot and botanical garden
Sunday – skating and flower child

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to God and big sister Keisha Boyd McDuffie. Her drive in community, art, and entrepreneurship has inspired me since birth.
