Meet Kamari Dowell | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kamari Dowell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kamari, why did you pursue a creative career?
I started official recording music at 15 but just for fun and it was mainly because I’ve always been into music since I was kid I used to listen to dub step and skrillex heavy and of course the main guys like Wayne,Gucci,Future etc. But I’m heavily influenced by future cause he taught me what the true meaning of what’s done in the dark is gonna come to light and growing up a lot of people doubted me, said I was weird and lots of irrelevant things but never seen the work I put in to get here so I knew I had to be doing something right .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an artist, I stand apart through my unique blend of creativity and emotional depth. I don’t just create for the sake of aesthetics; I strive to capture raw, unspoken feelings and translate them into forms that resonate deeply with those who experience my work. Whether through bold color choices, like my pink and white KAMMY keychains or my water ripple swimsets from my brand Trippyface, I aim to create art that challenges the viewer’s perception and evokes a sense of connection. My work reflects my personal journey, making each piece an intimate exploration of both my inner world and the shared human experience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A light breakfast at a local cafe, followed by some shopping. I’d take them to boutiques, unique local stores, and artisan markets to pick up something to remember the trip.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A person I want to shoutout is NOMADNOHOME. Nomad and I been working on an Underground Def jam recreation game with a group of people. I hit up our creator Carson one day asking to be in the game and I honestly did not think he would let me in but he did & once I had got that green light it was only up from there so praise to him as well, But we’re still in the middle of working on the tape for the game and I created the cover as well , I’ve gotten at least 3 songs alone for it including a song with me and nomad, and a song with Carson too even though he just started making music he still got on a song with me cause nobody really was Tryna send songs, so then nomad noticed how much desire I had for the game so without nomad or the whole UGWW group I wouldn’t be getting this interview.
