We had the good fortune of connecting with Kairo Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kairo, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite quote that I use everyday: “Everything happens for a reason.” I’m sure some individuals are curious as to why certain events happen to them in the manner that they do. The question would always be, “Why is happening to me?” Why not? My logic of questioning has changed over the years. Instead of asking yourself, “Why is this happening to me? Ask yourself, “What is this trying to tell me? Who/what do I need to re-evaluate in my life?” Life has a funny way of unveiling certain situations that has been hidden temporarily. I love that quote because I feel it is preparing you to walk in the same direction of your purpose. When objects are thrown your way to deter you from your path, once you overcome it. It’s preparing you to become an inspiration to others in a similar situation. Next time, don’t ask why is it happening to you. Ask, who needs to hear your story.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
An interest sparked in photography earlier this year. I’ve always look at photographs taken by other photographers and was amazed by how they created certain images. I’m still in the beginning stages of photography but with the help of my football coach and photography mentor, Arnold Tyus, who is a professional photographer in the Atlanta area. I have no doubt in my mind, that I can and will accomplish being a successful photographer in the Atlanta area as well. Anything that’s worth having, is never easy to come by. Be willing to put in the work behind your vision. Your dreams can become your reality.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve only visited Apache’ Café once and I absolutely loved it! It’s a place where people can enjoy live music/poetry. I would definitely take my bestfriend there. We would go to bowlmor! We would eat at Tastee Spoon which is a Jamaican restaurant inside of The Perimeter Mall. Visit Roswell Mill which has a beautiful waterfall. Visit The High Museum of Art. Take a trip to the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, Ga. You can either rent a vehicle or take your own through this amazing trail of wild animals that comes to close proximity of your vehicle. We would go hiking in Dawsonville, Ga at Amicalola Falls. This is just a few of many great places to visit here!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My sister, Taquitta Watkins, she’s amazing when it comes to arts and crafts! She has been designing T-Shirts, Mugs, Wreaths. Blankets, Diaper Cakes and more! She makes delicious baked treats. She has been doing this for years for friends and family. I really would like for her to expand. More people should know about her! They will not be disappointed in any task they give to her.
