We had the good fortune of connecting with K $tarr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi K, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Just the mere fact that I’m doing anything in entertainment is a risk in it self! I love to entertain but people don’t know i am horribly shy! Every time i grab a mic or a camera is pointed at me is take a huge risk of just dying right there lol if you all only knew the screams i let out inside!

But yes! I advise anyone to face risks head on! It’s the only way to overcome them!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well my brand is very raunchy to say the least! I make music that could arguably be compared to artist like : Trina, Ying Yang Twins, Sexxy Red and Plies to name a few. As an LGBTQ artist i really enjoy music that is for us.

We have enjoyed so many rappers over the years that really aren’t making music from our perspective and i am changing that!

Now is it easy? No ! Female rappers are really just getting there justice 50 years later so i know it will be a while before LGBTQ artists get the recognition we deserve but i am glad to have a hand in paving the way!

I have been blessed with many exciting things happening for me along this musical journey, so professionally i couldn’t be more excited about what i have accomplished and what’s yet to come!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well of course Atlanta has been the home to many viral places on Beyoncé’s internet! (Lol) so of course i would show them all the things that they see online or on tv just so they could experience it, wether it be Tyler Perry Studios, the Trap Museum or even Waffle House lol (Believe me it’s been requested)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes! I want to dedicate this to my best friend and manager Danita Rashawn who passed away in 2023. She was my rock and my biggest fan who helped shaped my career in more ways than one!
