We had the good fortune of connecting with Juma Mounger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juma, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My process behind starting my business was to just liberate myself from the idea of working to make someone else rich and to get paid for what i love to do. I finally found myself wanting to be happy with the decisions that i make in life. Ive always been a guy who was raised to work for the things you wanted it. i realize i could do something that i love and still make the money i need to provide.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most proud to see that i committed myself and i made a plan and executed it. everyday is still a new day to achieve more and to reach more goals but when you step out of your comfort zone and tell yourself you can do this and actual do it its feeling that almost indescribable. i think the thing that sets me apart from others is this isn’t a business to me grant it is a business but i absolutely love art, i love creating and its what has driven me and given me purpose. This was not a easy road mainly due to me telling myself i could do it or i wouldn’t have the support needed. i even told myself everyone is doing so find something else but i had a great support team that continuously pushed me and once i started believing in myself and eliminated those negative thoughts things started to turn around for me quickly. i had to learn that success starts with believing in yourself, taking risk, and being consistent. there would be times i would take time off rather a couple weeks or a couple months and every time it felt like i had to start all over. we are living in a time where consistency is key to winning. i also learned you don’t need a million people in your corner you just need a few good people who will keep you motivated and inspired. Having a good team by your side is also a big major key. i would like the world to know that even in a pandemic when money is scares and hope is lost you can still chase your dreams and be successful. I’m just a guy from Saginaw Mi who didn’t think the levels Ive reach was even possible but i believe and i didn’t compromise my love for the art.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
well all of my favorite spots has closed down and with covid there isn’t much going on these days.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
i would like to shout out to my brother Rushdee Williams who is the niggest if not only inspirting to drive me to do the things ive been able to do up to this day. He has played a big role in my independent success..He always motivaties and shows me how to get to the next level.
