We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordon Hull and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordon, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
This is definetly something that takes some time to master. Still to this day I can find myself struggling with this because I try to be available to my clients as best I can. One thing I can say that has helped me managed this is start documenting everything whether it be a 15min phone call, an actual session that is booked, a follow up you have with a vendor, Updates to any clients plans, even dates or scheduled dinners. This way you always have complete visibility to what you have going on at all times and you can carve out time for yourself and what you need to do to recharge. Another HUGE point is to SET BOUNDARIES!! As everyone should know time is money, time is valuable and your time shouldn’t be wasted. So overall, i’ve just gotten more organized with my time management
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I wear many hats. One of my hats being a Senior Program Manager with a IT Consulting Firm. It hasn’t been an easy road getting to where I am today but I had some people who believe in me early on who gave me an opportunity and I ran with it. Not many African American in the consulting industry I’ve found so I prode myself on being of the best within my company and look forward to helping other succeed one day.
My other hat Personal Trainer/Professional Bodybuilder- this also has not be an easy title to obtain. This has taken years and years of dedication and effort to make it where I am today and I’m still not quite at the point I wish to be. I’m slowly scaling that aspect of my business (training) to eventually be autonomous over time. This way I can dedicate more time to bodybuilding and getting to that elite level and making it to the Olympia stage.
Lastly Small Business owner. This also still a work in process, but were maiking a way to grown this business and make it successful. We’re looking to collaborate with more companies and gyms to bring more awareness as well and bringing new products for the community to try. As any other business owner will say we still have room to grown and expand so we are very much looking forward to that
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a tough one. I don’t get out much and definitely can’t give someone a week of time LOL. But I can make it a GREAT weekend. I would say pick them up from the airport lets say a friday evening. We go out catch a quick drink at the James Room, close to the house. Then get ready to go out for the night maybe do a little lounge scene nothing too crazy probably Rocksteady (good food too). Hang out there and maybe go next door to Blue if we were feeling we had more in the tank.
Then the next day do a little something outdoors. Probably take them to Stone Mountain catch the views work up a little sweat. Then come back into the city lounge at Piedmont Park with some friends and drink. Depending on what they are into walk the beltline check out Ponce City Market get a Donut from Five Daughther Bakery and then work our way to get some Glide Pizza!!
Take them a United or Braves game have some fun there after the game at the Battery or Head over to the HardRock hotel grab a drink on their rooftop.
Sunday Funday Pool party for sure some music some food invite some people over and call it a weekend
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My circle is very strong. I will say the Men I call my friends are extremely supportive and motivating. They have always proposed ways to push me to take a leap or try something different if they felt my purpose was not being fulfilled. Shout to Matt Scott, Thomas Long, Denson Louis, Terrence Banks, Austin Turner
