We had the good fortune of connecting with Johanna Mirpuri and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Johanna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had visions of entrepreneurship even though I didn’t know what it was called. The thought process of starting my own business was simple, owning my own time and experiencing life without the boundaries of a job that dictates how often I work, how much my income is, how many vacation days I can have and how much time to spend with my family.
What should our readers know about your business?
A lot of people think you have to be one thing and that’s it. Overtime as I have grown not only have I been Momma Cuisine for 13 years, which is a huge passion of mine. I turned Cooking into a business in career With a cooking show, countless television appearances, sponsorships and endorsements.
But as I grew And matured as an entrepreneur, I also put myself in a position to have my own life insurance agency we’re me and my team of agents nationwide are able to help middle-class families understand the basics of protecting themselves with life insurance and truly understand how generational wealth works.
It’s never easy to break out of a mold that people think you should be. But you have to have incredible self belief and faith that the visions that God has given you will become reality if you put in the work and fight against the thoughts of fear. As an any good thing, overtime everything starts to blossom.
What I want people to know about my brand in both Momma Cuisine and a life insurance is that I truly want to use any platform that I’m on to help not just myself in the teams that I work with but the people that we have access to to live richly. And I’m not just talking about money. I’m talking about living richly and their families, relationship, parenting, In their faith, language that they speak to themselves and others, their mindset and hearts. Because that is how you truly live richly on this earth. And I’ve just been fortunate enough to be able to tap in to my talents and discover skills that will benefit me and my family and other people.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I live in Chicago and Chicago has so many great spots! I recommend for anyone especially people in Atlanta where the weather is always nice to come to Chicago during the summer months. People don’t realize how big Lake Michigan truly is! We could rent a yacht enjoy the city view from the lake, then go to all the different neighborhoods throughout the city from the southside to the north side and the west side. Chicago has so much culture an incredible city to visit and live in.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The people who deserve the most recognition in my success is my family. I come from a family of entrepreneurs, and I come from a family who has become very supportive and who I wanna become as a woman. Without my children I wouldn’t be who I am is Momma Cuisine and I wouldn’t have the empathy envision I have for the future.
