We had the good fortune of connecting with Jocelyn Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jocelyn, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
What makes me happy is diving into the world of romance novels, both as a reader and as someone who supports authors in promoting their work. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about immersing myself in stories filled with passion, connection, and the intricacies of human relationships.
Reading romance novels isn’t just about escaping reality; it’s about exploring real issues and personal growth in a safe and engaging way. Romance literature often tackles topics like communication, consent, identity, and overcoming obstacles, providing readers with valuable insights and perspectives on navigating their own lives and relationships.
Moreover, being involved in promoting authors and their work allows me to contribute to the vibrant community of romance enthusiasts and creators. By helping to amplify diverse voices and stories, I feel like I’m playing a small part in celebrating the richness and depth of the genre.
It’s also allowed me to find my passion for writing. I am currently working on my first romance novel, and there is such joy in crafting my own romance stories. Writing allows me to explore my creativity, express my thoughts and emotions, and connect with readers who share my love for romance. It’s a deeply rewarding process that continually challenges me to grow as a writer and as a person.
Overall, the combination of reading romance novels, promoting authors, and working on my own writing brings me happiness because it allows me to engage with meaningful content that resonates with both my mind and my heart.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve had a marketing business and consulting business for about seven years now. While I have also maintained a corporate career, I found that there were always people reaching out to ask for my assistance, and I wanted to create a way to support them. I’ve supported entrepreneurs, and small and medium sized businesses in many different industries to achieve growth in their business. What sets me apart from others is my unique blend of expertise, creativity, and dedication to client success. I approach each project with a holistic perspective, focusing not just on immediate results but on long-term growth and sustainability. My ability to think outside the box and tailor strategies to each client’s specific needs sets me apart, and allows me to provide the right marketing and business strategies for my clients.
I am most proud of the transformative impact my work has had on my clients’ businesses. Seeing them achieve their goals and exceed their expectations is incredibly rewarding. I’m also excited about the opportunity to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation in marketing and business strategy, staying ahead of trends and delivering cutting-edge solutions.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the power of resilience and adaptability. In an ever-changing business landscape, the ability to pivot and innovate is crucial for long-term success. I’ve also learned the importance of building strong relationships with clients, partners, and team members. Collaboration and communication are key to achieving shared goals and driving meaningful results.
I want the world to know that my consulting business is built on a foundation of integrity, expertise, and a genuine passion for helping others succeed. My story is one of perseverance, innovation, and a relentless commitment to excellence. I believe in the power of strategic thinking and creative problem-solving to drive positive change, and I’m dedicated to empowering businesses of all sizes to reach their full potential.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start off with brunch at Murphy’s for their amazing cinnamon rolls. Then we can check out the adorable Highland Books bookstore and spend some time walking around all the cute shops. Can’t forget to stop at Paolos Gelato after a nice walk through the neighborhood. That evening we would find a place for dinner and have some fun listening to live music at one of the bars.
A day at the High Museum, followed by an evening at the Fox Theater would be a fun arts day to enjoy.
Another day would include heading out to Decatur and checking out Eagle Eye Book Shop where I attend my IRL romance book club. After book shopping we could head to lunch at Souper Jenny and then head to the Decatur Square. We can walk around the shops and have dinner at The Iberian Pig.
One day would need to be exploring some of the gorgeous nature we have in Atlanta within the city and head for a nice walk at Lullwater Park and see the waterfall, lake and take a walk over the fun suspension bridge.
My hometown where I grew up is Roswell and we would need to see the Mill and hike around Vickery Creek and take a stroll along the Chattahoochee River. I would insist for an evening there to enjoy the adorable downtown and eat dinner at Vas Kouzina one of my favorite places.
There also would need to be a day at the lake. We would rent a house for the weekend and be able to explore the mountains at Chatuge Lake and of course take a Tiki Bar cruise out on the water.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to my brother Daniel Robinson. He is the reason I found my happiness in the romance genre. He is a writer for the Netflix show Bridgerton, and when he got the job I read the books for the series and was instantly hooked to the romance genre.
Daniel, your belief in my creative endeavors has been a guiding light, illuminating even the darkest corners of doubt. From the earliest drafts, you have been such a support providing feedback and helping me learn how to grow and improve as a writer.
Thank you for being such a support, for believing in me, and for igniting a passion within me that burns brighter with each passing day. May our shared love for storytelling continue to weave the threads of our bond, forever connecting us in the timeless embrace of words.
