We had the good fortune of connecting with JMAYZ and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi JMAYZ, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I am a musician. Everyday I wake up, I wonder whether I’m doing this right or what to do next. I strive to do at least promotion or some type of work including my music. The hardest part is getting a loyal Fanbase and it will make you want to give up. The thing that keeps me going is the feedback I receive, meeting new people that can help you succeed, and just being able to sell something that is totally yourself.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a music artist, I am most proud at how some of my music makes people feel. I make music that shows love and satisfaction. I relate to what most of the world are going through right now. I got to where I am by making great relationships. It is not easy to do because there is a lot of traveling and spending money that you don’t necessarily have. I kept working and investing with my friends and family to make this all happen. The biggest lesson I’ve learned about music is to spend less money recording and more money promoting. My brand is JMAYZ and we are progressing to be one of the biggest companies in the independent music industry.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you were visiting. I would take you to Teds Montana Grill for some savory bison to start out with. We would have margaritas to get us a little right. Probably go to the mountains and casino to sightsee around Colorado. I would take you to the dispensary and to the sports bars downtown.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanna shoutout to Lil Donald. The path he took showed me to an extent the path I need to take. I’ve shaken hands and made deals with some of the same people that made him a platinum artist. It’s really about the work and relationships you put together.
