We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesse Veloz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jesse, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
When evaluating if I should keep going doing something I always evaluate how passionate I’m about it, sometimes we tendt to romantize our goals or desires and forget about if the process or results are align to what make us happy. Nowadays, to keep going on something I evaluate my menthal and physical health, small wins, positive outcomes, learning, and overall asking myself, how much I want this. When I give up on something, is basically the oposit, if my menthal and physical health get to compromisse and results are just not coming or not process at all I re-evaluate how many time Im investing, how much I put in financially and if the results of those questions surpass my posibilities I review my goals and if at the moment were I am those goals are also change then is ok to give up on something that is not making any good for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Im a Mexican / American individual. I started my life in Mexico, I have a Bachelor Degree in communication and my professional career started also in Mexico. Im very proud of myself for always being flexible, and having a learner strenght which allow me to be courios and and wanted to know more. During my professional lifein Mexico I was working in a Bank, started as teller and eventually being a managger of one the branches the time there was about 7 years in where I learned a lot of information related to the economy and financial education. Then there was a time where I needed to take a desicion and move to USA. Having this change wans’t easy due to was a different Country, diffeente language and social life. I will say that my adaptability to change is very strong and I consider myself as a resilient person and something that helps me to adapt myself was the positive thinking and be in a new world. Currently Im working in a Health & Human Service Agency and even that wasn’t easy at the beggining, I had to take english clases, while working and adapting to new procedures, regulations and the new culture. I overcome this challenges with the desire to be in a better stage of my life, the learning experience, perseverance and overall having the passion and love for myself and putiing that on what I do everyday. When Im not on my 8-5 job I like to create content for a skin positivity, personaly I have scars on my face from a combination of acne and chickenpox. In the past having this scars create insecurities and depression. However, life continues and we have to keep going, I started to read articles regarding skin improvements, aceptance, loving your own skin as it is, and also started to treat my scars and overall knowing the fact that it is important to you and you want to do something on that matter every minimal action willl make you feel different also having the knowledge that we all have different posibilities when it comes to pay for treatments or medications. Nowadays, I have a sense of community on instagram, I started to follow other stories, sharing content and sharing my own story and evolution. Skin acceptance is focus on embrasing who you are, normalizing all different skin types and conditions such as acne, texture, scars. We have to keep showing our authintc self and empowering others to feel confident.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family is huge factor in who I am today, thanks to their love, motivation and acceptance I become more confident with myself also I am so grateful for the way my parents teach me how to overcome obstacules and maitaining a positive attitude even when moments are so hard. In addition to be able to modify and adapt my mindset a book that helps me to gain personal freedom was The four Agreements, This book is such an eye opening on how we have the control over how we want to see or take others actions, innactions or words.
