We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy Wayne Dean and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremy Wayne, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
To not stop pressing potential. To stay motivated regardless of individual outcomes at gigs or with opportunities and understanding that continual positive motion forward inevitably leads to new discoveries, disciplines and levels of determination.

If you want it, go get it. It’s there waiting for you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Art… I’m a musician and like to write. I think maybe my delivery is what would set me apart? An inner energy I can pull up and put out into others. I just love what I do and I think people can tell and enjoy seeing that.

Definitely not easy…everyday, every gig, every opportunity to create requires something different. You gotta feel the room out. The people. The air…you never know which it’s gonna go til you start running with it. It’s a fun a challenge to encounter even though it might take you back til you adjust.

I’ve learned…to not stop. Stay positive. Stay true to your style and set it in forward motion. Enjoy the adventure.

For me, I want people to know that it’s not easy, but it is worth it. My story runs deep but at the end of the day…literally no one can do what you want done for you, but you. They can help, but you have to be present and apply yourself when necessary to really succeed.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So, I actually don’t go out much. I prefer to hike, camp, and climb. Most folks I hang with enjoy the same so…I’d say we’d have to find a cool local mountain or park and hit it up for an adventure. North GA is my jam. I love the Dawsonville/Amicalola area.

Buuut, if they wanted to go “out”… I’d say checking out Southern Belle as a spot to eat, any local coffee shop is gonn be a solid option for me or my friends and maybe take a nice walk through the belt line to see what’s good along the way…bc there is a lot of awesome stuff to experience on the way on the Belt Line.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So, Ian Schumacher got me started with music about ten years ago…without his mentorship and guidance at the time, I may not have made it to where I am. He got me started and taught me a lot about what it takes to maintain being a full time musician.

I recently read a friend’s book called So Worth Loving and honestly it got into my head and I can tell it has had an impact on my day to day. Even gave the book to daughter after I finished it. It’s written by a friend, her name is Eryn Eddy and she runs that company as well.

Let’s not forget the countless artists I’ve met along the way…all of them I consider peers and motivators. So many beautiful and talented people have helped me without even being aware.
