We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny King and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenny, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Honestly, I started posting on Instagram (or what I like to call micro blogging) more frequently about three years ago. And I noticed that people were actually interested in what I had to say. Truth be told I began sharing more because I wanted to develop my voice. See when you’ve struggled with low self-esteem your entire life it can be difficult to express yourself or talk about your own thoughts and opinions. That was something I wanted to work on and so I did. I put myself out there, poured out my heart, provided insight into my self-love and weight loss journey, and I can’t tell you how many times people would tell me how much my posts inspired them. That’s when it hit me, I could really make something out of all of this. I guess you could say the idea for my business came from my desire to want to help people overcome the same struggles that I’ve faced throughout life including low self-esteem, poor self-image, and weight loss. And that is why I wrote my first book “Live Whole, Healthy, and Free! An Inspiring Guide to Living in the Moment.” In this book I share all the lessons I’ve learned on my whole-self-discovery journey as I like to call it. The book is a quick read but it is jam-packed with gems to uplift, inspire, and encourage. After writing the book I decided to create and launch a 21 Day Challenge that focuses on helping people get unstuck in life by practicing better daily habits while utilizing my proven method The Wholistic System. And I am currently in the process of building onto that concept and developing a three month program designed to help individuals overcome trauma and low self-esteem so that they can walk in the fullness of who they are. My business continues to evolve but I know for certain my vision and purpose will remain the same and that is to help others recognize the importance of self-love and living in the now.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Professionally I work in Risk Management and specialize in mitigating risk for events involving minors. I am excellent at project management and process improvement. And I have a passion for strategic planning.

I think what sets me a part from others is that I have a unique ability to be able to understand the big picture while aligning overarching goals with project tasks to help push an organization’s vision forward.

I am most excited about bringing everything I’ve learned throughout my career professionally over into my business. And building a brand where I can use my skillset in strategy to help others add more structure into their life.

My path in my professional career has not been easy and the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the years are to give yourself grace, listen to your body, take breaks when you need them and always make sure you are happy in whatever you do.

I’d like the world to know that I am a seasoned professional with aspirations of becoming a Chief of Staff someday while I am working on building a lifestyle brand that focuses on encouraging others to make faith, fashion, fitness and fun a central part of their life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well because I am a foodie and most of my friends are too, I’d make the itinerary all about the great spots to eat in Atlanta. We would explore all types of cuisine and I’d try my best to stay clear of chains. First stop would be Ponce City Market. We’d definitely go to Atlantic Station one of those days. We would try a mini golf spot. Hang out in West Midtown. Do all the touristy stuff in downtown Atlanta including museums while visiting historical sites. And the list really could go on for weeks because there are so many great eateries here in the A! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to Shoutout my mother Dr. Luevenia King. I’ve watched her overcome so much trauma throughout life and her perseverance has encouraged me to do the same.
