Hi Jazzaline, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is my faith in Jesus Christ. Some may think is cliche but honestly I wouldn’t be where I am today without him. Sevyn Cosmetics is not your regular cosmetic business. It is a business where woman can come in broken and leave whole. I can guarantee you that the woman who have/is to come leave feeling renewed and transformed. The atmosphere that is created through my business reflects the strength of my faith. If it had not been for the Lord who is on my side; I would not have been able to use my gift as my ministry and for that I am grateful.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from others is the fact that I care about the woman who sit in my chair. I care about their wellbeing, mental , spiritual and emotional stability. I have created a space for woman to let go of the daily motions of life and be themselves. I enhance their beauty and help highlight the areas of their life that they may be lacking in. Not only do they become transformed through looks but I incorporate Christ which allows them to have transformation in their Heart.

Finding out what made me different was the hardest part. As we all are aware, the beauty industry is very saturated. Which, becomes challenging when multiple people offer the same service as yourself.it took some time but I quickly realized that woman need more than looks, we need to be heard, loved, pampered and encouraged and that’s what I stand for.

There are many challenges in business especially for serial entrepreneurs. The hardest part for me was trying to figured out if I wanted to do hair or makeup. I felt as if they could not go hand to hand. Like i had to choose one over the other. what I have learned is to truly trust God and allow him to direct your path. everything else come to you naturally. your gifts will truly make room for you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There is so much to do here in Atlanta. The first place that I would take my friend is to Ponce city market. This will allow for them to get a small taste of the city life – games, roof tops, foods, music, and opportunities to network with people. We would probably go to the aquarium, the battery, IPIC, horse back riding, hiking, ATV riding, arcades and I-fly.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to take the moment to say thanks to the people who believed in me, To my grandparents , parents , siblings, family , friends and sevyns’ community you have truly shown me the true meaning of “it takes a village.” As I respond to this interview I begin to reflect on when I first started. When I was doing braids for sixty dollars and afraid to charge deposits. I reflect on the comments, likes, shares and support from those who I did not realize was watching. Tears begin to form at the fact that you all saw potential in me way before I had clear understanding. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to be a be on of light to so many and hope that my life is encourage others to keep going. No one said that business would be easy but you all definitely made it worth it. Thank you for your love and support. Thank you for being a true village.
