We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaylah Sibley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaylah, how do you think about risk?

The answer to this is quite simple. The greater the risk, the greater the reward. Life as an entrepreneur is all about risks. I honestly feel like that’s life in general. How do you know whether or not something is genuinely for you, without taking the risk to try it? There’s pros and cons to everything we encounter in life, it’s our job to make the best of it.

Risk has benefitted me more than it’s ever hindered me. I have become fearless of anything life throws at me because I simply know that your mindset is what produces your outcome. You think positive, you reap positive. No risk, no reward.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

My proudest accomplishment is being able to teach, instruct, and mentor other women who are interested in the wig business.

I’ve been a wig enthusiast for 2 1/2 years now, and to know that my passion has created my purpose for me is very rewarding.

Growing up, I always played “school” with my stuffed animals, and was very artistic, creative, loved to draw, color, and paint. I even won awards in middle school art.

To be able to fully incorporate my passion of art and creativity as well as mentoring others has been very beneficial because it’s what I love to do!

Being an entrepreneur is not peaches and cream. There will be restless nights, doubt, fear, anxiety, days where you don’t see any business flow, consumers will tell you no. But it’s okay. You are not going to satisfy everyone and that was my shifting moment. I realized that my business isn’t made to please everyone, but to please those who value my time, creativity, and art. Mindset plays a huge part of thriving in business. One person’s “no” or “not right now” will be another person’s “yes.”

There’s struggles of procrastination, laziness, comparison, the list goes on. These are habits I had to break before starting my business. Comparison is the biggest one. What’s for you is for you and has your name engraved on it. Nobody can take that away from you and that’s the beauty of entrepreneurship. There’s an audience and clientele designated FOR YOU! And you create that audience and clientele by the experience you provide and showcase!

Visionary Elegance thrives for creativity. Converting women from “uncertain to confident.”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I’ve lived in Indianapolis majority of my life, I pretty much know the city like the back of my hand.

My favorite places to go to are parks, museum’s, the zoo, the Escape Room, and downtown (the canal and lime scooters).

My favorite restaurants are Famous Dave’s, Chick fil a, McAlister’s, Jockomo’s pizza, and Qdoba.

A lot of my favorite things to do bring me inner peace and happiness. Whatever contributes to that, I enjoy doing!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

My support system started off very small. There was a lot of discouragement and doubt around me, but that didn’t stop me from following my dreams. Passion and purpose go hand in hand.

I started accepting clients in my small bedroom. My support came from people I worked with and close friends. They were the only people close enough to me that had established enough trust and saw the potential in me to allow me to practice.

I went from a small bedroom to a traveling stylist, to a spare bedroom, to a studio space and now I have a designated shop area.

HUGE shoutout to Briaysia Griffin, AriAnna Sheehan, Dejah Thompson, Alayah Forrest, Jasmine Richardson, Camesia S, Reinn Johnson, Courtnee Carson, and many more for trusting me in the beginning of my hair journey and seeing enough potential in me to fully support my business. Without the trust in the beginning, I wouldn’t have gotten where I am now.

Anyone who knows me, knows that my clients are my celebrities and with my celebrities, my creativity can always display.
