We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Reyna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work-life balance is essential to me. For someone who works two jobs, I have to find the balance to continue to grow as a creative/food blogger. Also, I compete in powerlifting competitions a few times a year, which takes a lot of preparation and time to train. I was unaware of the time it took to plan and create solid posts when I started food blogging. Now I set two hours during the week to plan, prepare, and edit my content for future posts. I plan my weekends to try new delicious restaurants and gather more content to share on my page. When it comes down to it, the daily structure is how I can continue this continued growth of my brand. It may not work for everyone, but it does work for me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Like I mentioned before, I do work two jobs. My main job is with Harry and David. I have been with the company for seven months and work as an Inventory Supervisor. The second job that I work part-time is with Kroger. I have been with the company for 19 years. Tackling on my food blogging adventure was not an easy task with all that I had going on in my life. I was new to the social media scene and had no clue what I was doing. Patience is essential when it comes to growing something from nothing. You want to take the small wins when you can and learn from mistakes when they occur. As long as I improve on myself from the day before, I will always count that as a win. I want to share that surround yourself with more positive influences for those who are unsure about pursuing a passion. Positive people can change your life. Learn as much as you can from them. I would not be in the blogging world if it weren’t for those who have helped me get to this point in my life. I thank all of you, and we have created a great thing here.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Monday: Doughnut Dollies, Kennesaw Mountain (trail hiking), and Marietta Diner
Tuesday: Nom Station, Yakitori Jinbei, and Tacos La Villa
Wednesday: Spring Cinema & Okiboru
Thursday: Buford Hwy
Friday: Five Daughters Bakery, 26 Thai Kitchen, and New Realm Brewery
Saturday: Sublime Doughnuts, Scoville Hot Chicken, and Park 27 Korean BBQ
Sunday: Blue Mountain Coffee Roasters and Yao
There are so many areas on Buford Hwy. It is a trip in itself to see all the restaurants in one area. Every place I listed on my itinerary is where I recommend anyone to try and places I enjoy eating.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friend Jenn Holt has made a positive impact on my life. She has shown me that change is scary but also necessary. I was someone who had no plans of changing and did not want to get out of my comfort zone. With that said, I was unhappy and stressed quite often. Those personal struggles had effects on relationships with friends and coworkers. Without her guidance and influence on me, I would not be where I am today professionally and as an influencer. I am forever grateful for the positive impact she has made on me.
