We had the good fortune of connecting with Jarvis George and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jarvis, what do you attribute your success to?
Never being afraid of trying something new, being relatable and authentic, and having hella encouraging homies. I think a lot of people gravitated towards my content because although I was new to the city, I was always out exploring new vibes. I used my social media as an outlet to show the vibes of Atlanta from my point of view. In just 7 months, my TikTok page grew to over 100k+ from 0 followers. It was crazy! A lot of folks said they appreciated my page because it made them want to get out and explore more. Another big attribute has been my homies convincing me to take social media more seriously. Nothing better than having friends that motivate you. If it wasn’t for my dawgs pushing me to be better, my brand wouldn’t have grown to how big it is today.

What has been the most important factor behind your success?

One big factor to my success has been the creators that I have networked with within the city. A lot of times, it’s not what you know, but who you know. It’s crazy how much love and the free game they have shown me! I made some friends along the way that educated me on influencer marketing and how to scale my brand. Another factor was me just keeping everything authentic and being myself. My friends always told me I was the best at finding moves in any city we travel to. I use my page to put people on dope things to do. I never saw myself as a creator, but Tiktok has been a way to show the vibes I’m on from my point of view. Creating content has been like creating music videos to my life. The best part about it, I get to help small business owners grow along the way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel like my career is just getting started. I am a Navy Veteran, brother of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, UCF Alumni, and entrepreneur. I served in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman after graduating high school. In 2017 I was honorably discharged where later I enrolled at UCF.  After graduating from UCF, I was accepted into GSU and moved to Atlanta. My goal while moving here was to step out of my comfort zone and get involved in media. I wanted to expand my brand and vlog my new experiences and use social media as my platform. I have been living in Atlanta for less than a year, and have created a brand that is known by thousands of people. For right now, the story is still being written. I am just enjoying the process along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

If my homies came to the city and they wanted to get an all-around vibe of what ATL has to offer, the list would go like this:

First, you got to show folks it’s more things to do in Atlanta besides going out to eat, and the club. During the day we would hit up some hiking trails. Sweet water creek in Lithia Springs or the waterfall at  Old Mill Park in Roswell. Monday night we’re hitting up Cru lounge for free hookah Mondays. A slight hookah lounge with neon green lights, aesthetic views, and good food. Tuesday we are at Ponce city market to check out Bar Vegan and catch a vibe on the beltline. If you walk the beltline to Krog street tunnel you can see dope views of the city and street art along the trail. Wednesday you got to hit up one of the best restaurants in town. Toast on Lenox. I say Wednesday because Toast can get packed on the weekends. Later that day, hit up $5 happy hour from 5 pm- 8 pm at Fin and Feather on Edgewood, and end the night at Encore lounge for $1 hookah Downtown. Thursday night is my favorite night to kick it at Copper Cove in Buckhead. If you go, you have to get the lamb chops!!! Friday night we getting fly and hitting up Apartment 4b for afro Caribbean fusion food and drinks and ending the weekend Sunday at a dope brunch spot. My top choices for brunch would be Breakfast at Barneys or The Real Milk and Honey. Just know when you are in Atlanta, you are guaranteed to find good food and a variety of dope places to go.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All the homies that inspired me to tap into my creative side. Sincerely appreciate yall for the motivation.
