We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacquelyn Cade and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacquelyn, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
You may have noticed the name of my business is Arianna’s Kloset but my name is not Arianna. Arianna is my second child and oldest daughter. As a mother who is also a business woman, I wanted to give my children the gift of entrepreneurship. For each of my children I have started or plan to start a business that as they grow they are able to participate and learn the ins and outs. It will be amazing if these are areas they grow passionate about and become even more involved. As with my oldest he has taken his learnings and is using it to create and monetize a YouTube channel.

Arianna is only two at this time but becoming a girl mom inspired me to take a closer look at what I was wearing and if I was able to find clothes that made me feel proud of who I was. In turn, would my daughter find images she thought reflected her? So, Arianna’s Kloset started with t-shirts, mainly because I am a true t-shirt girl! Since I was young I love a good statement tee that reflects my mood of the day. We have since expanded into bottoms, bags and household items.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So funny enough, I have been in retail in some form or fashion since I was 16 years old. My relationship with retail started right in the baby department at Meijer’s in Ohio. Stacking out onesies and diapers. Not many people go to college and plan to graduate with their degree and move into retail and I was not the exception. I honestly wanted to go into hospitality management and work for the big hotel companies.

Life has a way of pointing you the direction you are meant to go. After graduating with a B.S. in Business Management, I decided to take a job offer with Sears and enter into their retail management program. This has led to a career I never regretted in store operations management that transitioned in to the corporate side of retail where I transitioned into a supply chain career in inventory management. I have been able to work with gifted buyers and learn retail from some of the best from some of the top companies.

With this type of background you would have thought I would have started an online boutique years ago. Despite having dabbled in the travel industry and doing other business ventures through the years I didn’t until recently think to start my own retail store.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I came to Atlanta right out of college so I have plenty of years to compile a list of favorites. What I love about Atlanta is that whatever vibe your feeling you can pick a place in the city or surrounding area to match it.

Since most of my friends and I are foodies we love to try new spots but there is one that is an old favorite. Thumbs Up Diner never disappoints. Most people think about their Marietta street location but our spot is the one in East Point. Maybe because I live on the Southside but something about that one makes the food taste better.

If your feeling a little fancier but want to people watch too. My next favorite spot is two urban licks. Great atmosphere and not its near the beltline so you get to do some interesting people watching while eating the salmon chip appetizer, yum!

Last, if we are trying to get out a little and want a little entertainment with out food we head over to Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint on Peachtree. I am such a fan of live music and everyone that plays there is phenomenal. The food is amazing and has that down south flavor you can’t help but love.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It’s so hard to narrow down who to shout out as I there have been so many of those who have contributed to my wins along the way! First I have to shoutout my other half who continually encourages me and together we create the vision for our family. Next for sure would be my tribe that is comprised of siblings, cousins and besties. Who aren’t afraid to tell me the how they really feel and continue to love and show support every day. No one could ask for a better tribe!
