Meet Jackie Harrington III: Actor/Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackie Harrington III and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jackie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
In business there are going to be risk that you take. I’ve taken risk that have cost me to lose thousands of dollars and risk that have put money in my pocket. I’ve learned from a few mistakes. When starting your own business that’s a risk itself. I’ve learned to cross my T’s and dot my I’s, and pay attention to details. I don’t consider the risk taking that went wrong as failures, but an opportunity to learn from the mistakes and come with better solutions.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love acting. I love bringing characters to life. As a kid I always dreamed of being on Disney and Nickelodeon. I never thought I would be in Atlanta filming projects for major movies and television shows. Now I have created a company that allows us to film various projects around Atlanta. After researching what a producer does I decided to delegate. I have a group of SCAD film students who are seniors that are ready to work any time there is a project, and a list of workers who I met in the industry. Our goal is to make films, which we have already started, and put them into festivals to gather attention. Our ultimate goal is to land a Netflix and Hulu contract. The hardest challenge can be overseeing everything and making sure that every job is done to completion and meeting requirements. I want the world to know who J. Harrington Productions is by providing great entertainment to all.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend of mine came in town we would most likely hit up Pasha Restaurant for some good ol lamb chops. I love to eat! Sivas hookah lounge is definitely a vibe when it comes to music and drinks. I like their Salmon by the way. I don’t go out to clubs much so most of the places will be restaurants and lounges. There is a waterfall in Roswell at the Roswell Mill that is pretty dope. I love nature as well. Six Flags will be dope as well to get a thrill.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout everyone who is apart of J. Harrington Productions presents, “My Big Film Fest”, and The cast and crew of my new movie “A New Village” that premiered May 16th. For those who don’t know about the event MBFF is a platform/festival that will occur each year for independent filmmakers to display their work. It took a list of sponsors, and SCAD students to make the vision come to life. They have been very helpful with the process, selling tickets, and creating great content to share with the world.
