We had the good fortune of connecting with Jabari Cain and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jabari, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
There are a couple of habits that I try to instill every day to keep Cain’s Camera afloat. The first would be consistent marketing and engagement. It can be difficult to stay relevant with everyone’s social media feeds, but I try to stay engaged with my current clients, past clients, and potential clients. Not only my clients but my wedding vendors as well. This habit of consistency has helped over the years! Another habit is treating every client as if they are your first. Having this mindset will produce a positive client experience.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is a unique client experience with quality wedding and engagement photography. I’m excited about how far I’ve come and the people I’ve met along the way. It was not easy to establish a business. It takes a lot of work including working at times when you’re physically and mentally tired. It takes consistency with marketing, engagement with clients or potential clients, learning from your mishaps, and always striving to make improvements.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to some of the historic parts of the city especially the locations that relate to the Civil Rights Movement (e.g., The King Center, MLKs Birthplace, Ebenezer Baptist Church). In regards to food, we would eat at Fogo De Chao all afternoon then walk off all the calories on the Beltline.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a couple of people I would like to thank outside of my family. These are mostly wedding vendors that I continue to work with. They include Sabrina Anthony from Crystal Pink Events, Bonnie Hawthorne from B Eclectic Eventz, Michelle Harrison from Michelle Harrison Signature Events, Vinson Starr from Perfect Events Now, Angelica Rose from Unique Rose Events, Niq Williams from Niq Williams Events, and Kori Shaw from Your Nuptial Doc. I would also like to thank my mentors Thomas Brown from Thomas Vision and Films and Charlton Inje from Inije Photography.
