We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I have been creating artwork for many years, and have commissioned various customized works of art for friends, family, colleagues, teachers, and others that have been apart of my life’s journey. I have always had a passion for art, and design. I have a degree in fine arts, content creating certificate. I believe being creative is just as important as math and science. I feel my children have benefited greatly because I have always encouraged them to pursue a form of art, or creative thinking. I want to “Inspire through Art”. My hope is to one day expand beyond just selling art, and designs., to offer classes, encourage more people that art is more than just AI created image.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I like to think my art and designs are created with passion. I myself and a very passionate, strong willed person. I pour a lot of emotion, and love into my works. I enjoy taking a customers idea and transforming into something they will love for years to come. I like to think some of my work appeal to each individual differently, I may have created it with sadness, bit it might bring calmness, or joy to someone else. I still have a long way to go professionally. Overcoming fear of failure, fear of criticism, and financial burden are all struggles. I am very blessed to have supportive family, friends and husband. I am proud of myself for taking a leap of faith and putting myself out into the community. I am still new to owning a business, and I hope i will be around for many more years. I love inspiring other through my art, I enjoy seeing a customers reaction when I have created something personal for them. Its more than a business, when you can inspire others, bring joy to others, and help create something memorable.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well If its Fall season- Festivals are the thing! Great food, music, and lots of unique crafts. Atlanta has blown up recently with mini-art shows anywhere form downtown Atlanta to Blue Ridge. A must for me- Aquarium, and Botanical Gardens- Atlanta or Gainesville. I am a very artsy person. I would hit up Shakespeare’s Tavern, or Laughing skull one night! Food- Bantam and Biddys! Great Gluten Free options! I live in Sugar Hill Georgia so we would be going to of Festivals, corn mazes nearby. Lake Lanier is always fun! Barrettes Baked Goods-amazing food Gluten Free Options! Avalon is always fun shopping!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Best friends have always encouraged me to take the leap and create a business for my artwork. I would create or design, works of art for my community free of charge, They pushed me to pursue more. My husband has always appreciated my talents an has been very supportive of my work, without his support I wouldn’t be able to be here today! Of Course my Mom has always been supportive, and encouraging me. I think it take a lot of guts to sell, display works or art, especially when you pour your heart into it. Another influencer would be Elizabeth Gilbert-“Big Magic” its creative living beyond fear. The book helped me face some fears, and realizing my passions can be real.
