Hi Grande, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
Leaving my family & friends behind to start a new life on my own. I was born & raised in burke county, I’ve made many memories there some good some bad but for the most part that’s really all I know. Both my grandparents whom I was close to died & my dad died so that just left my mom when it came to role model figure or someone to hold onto so leaving her was the most nerve wrecking thing I had to do & move to another state & start a totally new life & meet totally new people, I didn’t think I was going to make it but coming up on my one year anniversary I’m glad I made that decision because that decision will lead to my ultimate goal which is creating generational wealth for my loved one & showing my mama a life she never seen before.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I rap & I own my own apparel line entitled Grandes way clothing, Im CEO & artist of shut up & rap founded by jermaine Williams. Music has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, I remember breaking the needle on my mama player trying to scratch the vinyl. I don’t remember when I start rapping I just did & kept doing it til I got better. The road has been far from easy & many times I wanted to give up but I kept telling myself aint no way big God made me this fye & the world not know about me boy aint no way 😂 when people hear my music I don’t want them to be able to compare me to nobody I want them to say shawty original. I think my versatility sets me apart like you never know how im coming & Im most proud that people actually enjoy me & my talent. I gotta give a lot of credit to my bro Pap bonner though like bro aint no yes man & he bout blunt as they come & you gone either like him for it or you aint but either way shawty aint bout to cut no corners to make you feel better. No cap plenty of times I thought bro was just on some funny acting stuff cause I used to send this man my hardest songs & he’ll be like “oh nah that aint it” & Im like bro what you mean ? this gas !😂😂😂😂 All in all it help me grow as an artist I’m grateful for that fasho. I learned everybody can’t go where you go, everybody not going to like your stuff & strangers are the biggest supporters & different levels bring different devils so always remain humble & stay prayed up. I want the world to know I really got it out the mud & everything they see me with I worked hard for, a lot of sleepless nights, a lot of praying & a lot of trials & tribulations.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely hit up Chris or jazz they been my personal tour guide since I moved here but definitely hit up shantell’s spot & taste of soul cause they got some of the best soul food ever. Studio session is a must to catch a vibe , hit downtown check out the scenery hit a few bars & they gots to have some good wings ! I love chicken wings man sometimes I wanna be a chicken wing 😂😂 Most likely hit the beach & check out some ladies 😁 Top golf & bowling is definitely a vibe fasho. I wouldn’t really plan it i’ll just play it by it by ear on the daily cause it see like when you make plans they don’t stick but when you freestyle it that’s when you have the best time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First & foremost shout out to the biggest God cause without him none of this would be possible, shout out to my mama, my sisters, the bros I’m locked in with (too many to name they know who they are), jermaine & his wife Jajuan for opening their home to me to make this power move. Shoutout to anybody that supported me from day one & never counted me out ! & shoutout you guys for the opportunity Im grateful
