Meet Grace Keller | Georgia Family Portrait Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Grace Keller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Grace, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
To be honest I NEVER thought that I would start my own business! I always had the desire to take beautiful portraits for families and learn how to take professional photos, but I always assumed it would be a hobby I did on the side. It wasn’t until I voiced the desire to “put out into the world” that I was available to take photos for families that he recommended I go all in! My mindset is very much “all or nothing” so with his constant encouragement and my “give it all I’ve got” personality I decided to create an LLC., invest in professional equipment and hit the ground running!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Before I started Grace Keller Photos I worked for Chick-fil-A for 14 years in a plethora of positions & locations. I worked in the restaurants with operators as a team member, I held lower level leadership positions, worked at the corporate office here in Georgia as a trainer, and ended my time with them as a Marketing Director, allowing me to use my creative talents. Without a shadow of a doubt I know that is one of the reasons my photography business has thrived. The skills, leadership development & how to build a connection to people that I learned from my time with the company has allowed me to be set apart from others in my industry. The biggest feedback I receive from my clients is how easy I am to work with -from communication, to preparedness & how I treat them. I always put the client first & treat them with honor, dignity & respect (a core value from my time at Chick-fil-A)!
So for me, building a brand I could be proud of & one that cares first and foremost for each individual client came easier for me, all thanks to my time with Chick-fil-A.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Even though my family and I are new to the area (we just moved here all the way from Iowa), I already have experienced the most BEAUTIFUL scenes. I would for sure create a food tour, where we took them all around the Atlanta food scene. We would then end our time up north with a beautiful hike through the mountains and end in a quiet little bistro with the most delicious comfort food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, my husband Brandon. Without his encouragement and belief that I could make this something great I don’t forsee me taking that leap. I’d also love to shout out my father in law Tim. He supported me by fronting the finances for me to invest in professional gear and allowed me to pay it off as I could. There was zero pressure, he just wanted me to go for it. I’ m so incredibly thankful for him. Without his investment, I wouldn’t have been able to grow and be as successful as I have been. All of my in-laws and my own mother have been so encouraging throughout this process. I have great support.
