We had the good fortune of connecting with Gio Imani and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gio, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk has been part of every chapter of my career. I don’t see it as something to avoid. I see it as the price of building something meaningful.

Right now, I’m in one of the biggest risk-taking seasons of my business. I’m expanding Epidermis Esthetics Lab from a solo practice into a storefront in downtown Lawrenceville. It’s exciting, but it’s also full of unknowns. There have been delays, setbacks, and moments where plans haven’t unfolded on my timeline. I’ve learned that entrepreneurship isn’t about everything going perfectly. It’s about continuing to move forward even when it doesn’t.

My goal has never been to simply be a solo esthetician. I’ve always wanted to build a brand that people recognize and trust. A brand that stands for real skin transformation, education, and innovation. That vision is much bigger than filling my appointment book.

As we prepare for this next chapter, we’re bringing our award-winning approach to skin correction into a new city. After recently being recognized as the Best Skin Clinic in Buford, moving into Lawrenceville represents more than a change of address. It is the next step in building a brand with a lasting impact. Clients can expect advanced treatments, innovative technology, and an elevated experience that reflects how much Epidermis Esthetics Lab has grown.

Every risk I’ve taken has required faith, patience, and resilience. Even the setbacks have strengthened the foundation I’m building. Looking back, I wouldn’t change any of it because each challenge has shaped the business into what it is today, and what it will become tomorrow.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Epidermis Esthetics Lab is a clinical skin correction clinic and skincare retail concept built around one belief: healthy skin starts with understanding it.

What began as a solo esthetics practice has grown into a brand with a much bigger vision. After years of working one-on-one with clients, treating complex skin concerns, and continuing to advance my education, I saw the need for a space that offered more than traditional skincare services. Epidermis Esthetics Lab was created to bridge the gap between luxury skincare and clinical results by providing advanced treatments, personalized skin analysis, customized treatment plans, and professional skincare education.

Our storefront coming soon to downtown Lawrenceville, will bring this vision to life. The space will be designed as a destination for skin health, offering advanced corrective treatments, innovative technologies, and a curated selection of professional skincare products and essentials. The goal is to create an environment where clients do not just receive a service, but truly understand their skin and have the tools to create lasting change.

The growth of Epidermis Esthetics Lab has been built through trust, relationships, and results. Every client who has shared their journey, referred someone they love, and believed in this vision has played a role in getting us to this next chapter. As we prepare to open our new location, the mission remains the same: to help people feel confident in their skin through education, innovation, and personalized care.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I would want them to experience the charm of downtown Lawrenceville. We would spend time walking around the square, exploring local shops, enjoying great food, catching a show at the Aurora Theatre, and checking out some of the amazing small businesses in the area.

Of course, we would make a stop at Epidermis Esthetics Lab to shop professional skincare and experience a tailored correction facial. Taking time to invest in your skin while exploring a new city is the perfect way to relax and reset.

I love that Lawrenceville has the perfect balance of community, entertainment, and local businesses. It’s the kind of place where you can spend the day exploring and leave feeling connected to the area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
None of this would be possible without my clients. There would be no Epidermis Esthetics Lab without the people who have trusted me with their skin and their confidence.

Every client has taught me something. Their unique skin concerns and treatment journeys have allowed me to continue learning, growing, and refining my approach to skin correction. They have challenged me to become a better esthetician every single day.

Their word-of-mouth referrals, enthusiasm, willingness to trust the process, and genuine support have carried this business through the last few years. I truly would not be where I am today without them. As Epidermis Esthetics Lab enters this next chapter, I hope they know that every milestone belongs to them just as much as it belongs to me.
