We had the good fortune of connecting with Gia Ashley and Lacey Varnell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gia and Lacey, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Our slogan/affirmation we live by at Let It Out is to be a “gym for your mind”. Our mission is to encourage our clients to not feel ashamed to work on their mental health. To change the perspective around mental health and the negative dissociation that comes with it. Similar to how many of us view gyms or workout facilities as normal places to work on your body and improve how you look on the outside. Let It Out strives to create a space to work on your mind and improve how you feel on the inside.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In the year 2020, most of us experienced a pandemic on top of everyday stressors that comes with life. A heavy workload, home life, anxiety, pent up aggression…it can all just bottle you up!

Founded in Atlanta by a group of healthcare professionals, Let It Out offers a space for our clients to get away for a minute to decompress and alleviate stress. Whether you need to scream, cry, rage or meditate – we offer sessions for such needs.

Our sessions begin with an intro warm-up session, which is guided by a certified yoga instructor. Following this warm-up, will be a scream session and later a rage session for clients to let out any pent up frustration. We will break for a few minutes to catch our breath and conclude the session with a meditation/yoga session. We have instructors for each session to guide clients through each activity.

We remind our clients throughout our session that this is not a work out class for your body, but for your mind! Our sessions are filled with like minded individuals and is 100% a judgement free zone.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Battery in Cobb County, Georgia. We had two sessions out there on the green pavilion area. Beautiful scenery, family friendly area and lots of cool restaurants as well!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly we give all of our credit to our clients and supporters that come out to our sessions. We consider one another a family and like minded individuals that are working on a common goal – our mental health.
