We had the good fortune of connecting with FOURK’d and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi FOURK’d, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Great question, I believe we all had the same passion for food and two of us studied in the hotel and restaurant management industry so it just made sense for us to embark on it. originally our thoughts were to become an established catering company in the DMV area.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As mentioned prior we are a full service catering company as well as owners of a carry out restaurant.
To love FOURK’d is to know the brains behind it! Meet Dashawn Anderson, Eshe Frett and Derrick Grimes, owners of FOURK’d Catering and Eatery!
We are current residents of Prince George’s County and proud graduates of the University of Maryland- Eastern Shore (#HawkPride). Not only did we find one another on “the shore” but there is where we discovered our shared passion for great food! For many years we have crafted our FOURK’d brand to personify passion, creativity, presentation and flavor. Our passion exudes through every bite and the love used to make all of our dishes. Understanding the vision of our clients (and our own) helps us to create phenomenal food and events, as well as presenting art on a plate and flavor in your mouth.
We refer to our cooking style as “New Southern” or “Tradition with an Edge”. This birthed what we affectionately call the “FOURK’d Experience”. Leaving lasting impressions and retaining clients who then become “fourkies”. Being a staple in the community and exposing the art of food and hospitality to everyone we encounter makes what we do every day worth it!
We value opportunities where we are able to exhibit flavor to every pallet, presentation to every plate, creativity to every event and passion to everyone who takes part in the FOURK’d experience!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
🤣 I would take them to the FOURK’d Eatery! I mean, it’s great food, great ppl and very “vibey”. I would make sure they try all of our popular dishes like the collard green dip and wonton chips, surf and turf egg rolls and the praline pecan sweet potato casserole.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Love this question. We most definitely have to shout out Sequia Burch. She’s our big sister. She has proactively advised our business moves and has put up her own money to ensure we have the equipment needed. Of course our parents, our family. They have been instrumental in what we have achieved thus far. We also appreciate our friends and our customers who we call “fourkies”. They have shown us consistency
