Meet Estephanie Lizardi Brown | Hair Color Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Estephanie Lizardi Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Estephanie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
There came a point when working for someone else began to feel draining. I realized I was investing my time and energy in building someone else’s dream, rather than my own. As my values and vision started to diverge from the traditional industry path, I knew the only way to stay passionate about my work was to step out of my comfort zone and create something that truly reflected who I am. The constant thought of ‘when I’m on my own’ became the signal I needed to pursue my own business and turn my aspirations into reality.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I envisioned creating a welcoming space where clients could truly feel at home—free to express themselves without the pressure to fit any specific mold. In my salon, judgment has no place.
Through this journey, I’ve learned that “no” is a complete sentence, and I’ve discovered the importance of setting boundaries while staying true to myself. For the first time, I realized that my happiness must come first, and that was a tough lesson to embrace.
I want everyone who sits in my chair or considers my services to understand that with me, it’s always about more than just hair. My roots and culture deeply influence my approach, and everything I do behind the chair is intentional, with the goal of helping my clients connect with and express their inner beauty. I’m passionate about enhancing the richness of color and culture that each client brings, making every experience a celebration of individuality.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the charm of small-town life and prefer the peaceful atmosphere it offers. One of my favorite things to do is stroll around the square in Downtown Lawrenceville, supporting our local businesses. We usually kick off our day with a delicious coffee from Reyna’s Espresso & Sweets, followed by a delightful brunch at Scrum-did-dly-ump-tious.
After that, we often catch a show at the Aurora Theatre, and then we explore the local boutiques or unleash our creativity at Painting with a Twist. To wrap up the evening, we enjoy the vibrant events happening on the lawn or head to D’Floridian for drinks and live music. It’s a perfect blend of community and fun!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband and my mom have always believed in me, recognizing my potential long before I could see it myself. Without their unwavering support and guidance, I doubt I would have found the courage to pursue my own path.
