Meet Erica Johnson | Neuromuscular Therapist by way of a Guest Service Representative for Hilton

We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Having an independent & leadership type of personality, I always knew that I wanted to start my own business. I just couldnt pin point what it would be. In 2020 I was diagnosed with a rare type of blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma. I was devistated and thought my life was over. I’d lost all of my hair and most of all my optimism on life. I’ve always been a highly, energetic, outgoing person, until this point in my life. But I was ready to do something about that. In 2021, once I came into remission I was ready to bring my vision as a business owner into reality. This time around I had experienced a total life changing delima that I could speak on in my testimoney. After losing all of my hair & my chemotherapy was over, I had to find a way to make my hair grow back faster. So thats when I created Goddess for Her Hair Growth Potion with people like me in mind.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well, I’m not where I want to be as of yet but I’m still growing my business which is going to be my career. Im a Neuromuscular Therapist by trade. Meaning, bringing the body into homeostasis (balance), working with the Central Nervous System, and the Muscular Skeletal System. I worked along side chiropractors working on clients with pain and injury for about 8yrs until my license expired. Being in that type of health industry helped me learn more about nutrition, holistic healing, and alternative medicine. Which helped me learn how to work with herbs, about polarity, & balance. I think I’m more passionate about my hair growth business more than most because I went through losing all of my hair drastically from Chemotherapy. So, I created it with others like me in mind. I’m mostly excited about finally stepping out there and taking a risk to launching my own business, instead of just talking about it. It’s not easy at all.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a very adventurous person and hopefully they are too. Six flags over Georgia is fun, Stone Mountain Park, E Ponce City Marketplace, The Battery Atlanta, Mercedez Benz stadium for a game, Fox Theatre for a Broadway Play, Atlanta Comedy club, or a speak easy. For food and drinks maybe a brunch place Breakfast boys, Breakfast at Barneys, Pappadeaux’s, Peach Cobbler Cafe, Louisiana Bistros, Fogo De Cho, Seasons 52, Capital Grill, or Mary Macs. I think the Botanical Gardens and the waterfalls in Sandy Springs would be a great place for people to check out while visiting Atlanta as well. Im very outgoing.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, God has been the only one that has had my back through all of the trials and tribulations that Ive been through. When I was diagnosed with stage 3 Cancer and almost lost my life, but didnt that was GOD. When I went into remission I knew It was only god that did that. Establishing my business and still pushing through today to tell my story, is nothing but GOD!! So no there’s not anyone that has helped me on my journey. Just my faith in GOD. I definitely was inspired by Jessica Dupart and her company Kaleidoscope Hair products. I watched her grow her company. I know it wasnt built overnight but it seemed like it. But thats because of the grind. I wish I had a mentor like her to give me advice or tips.
