We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Olson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have had a few businesses in my life, all with their own reasoning behind them, but Luxe was started both out of a desire to hone in on my more creative side, while also granting myself the freedom I desired to be able to spend quality time with my children as they got older. Coming from a more rigid schedule in the past, being able to set my own hours and to work outside of the times that my children were present or had activities was the primary factor in my decision to start my business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Luxe Organizing Solutions is all about creating sustainable systems to ease the stress of day-to-day life. Whether you live alone or have a home full of family, there is a system that is right for everyone. With each client and project, we strive to listen to the specific goals and needs for the space, working to curate a customized solution that will negate difficulty in the space, while also enhancing the aesthetics of the area. It is our dedication to bespoke systems, aesthetic design, and turn-key service that set us apart in our service offerings and we pride ourselves on going above and beyond to make each client ecstatic with their results.

As with every business I have encountered challenges along the way, whether that be learning new skills, shifts in life situations, or anything in between. The biggest lesson I have learned in regards to growing a business is likely that you have to adapt – adapt your circumstances, you plan, your methods – everything has to grow with both you and your clients to be successful. I have not found the exact science to this yet, if there is one, but I strive to learn more every day about how to better help our clientele and how to get our name out there to ensure people know that our service exists!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Here at Lake Oconee, being outdoors is a must! Obviously going out on the water is a staple and stopping at Gaby’s at the Ritz Carlton by boat for a quick lunch is definitely a well-loved choice. We have fantastic golfing here, as well, and a generally very active community! If we were going closer to the city, I would absolutely recommend checking out the many dining options in each little town – Iberian Pig in Decatur is definitely one of my favorites!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I was very blessed growing up to have a strong role model in my mom, for more reasons than one, but specifically in business through watching her work her way up to very high levels in her field. She always put her best foot forward, working as hard as she could for our family, and that is something I strive to emulate in my own life with my children. My mom passed away when I was in my early 20s, but I still look to her advice and example as I reach goals, face challenges, and look to ascend my business to new heights.
