We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebonee Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ebonee, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
With The In Crowd ATL being dedicated to documenting the ever-growing success of upcoming Atlanta creatives, something that we always stay true to is making sure underground entrepreneurs, content creators, and artists (visual and musical artists alike) know that someone is rooting for your success, not matter how small your brand is. I started this business while attending college and knew that I had no entrepreneurial experience. However, I also knew that I love to write, I love to get to know new creatives and I love letting people know that their hard work never goes unnoticed. When you’re in the business of appreciating and taking care of your community, the same community will take care of you too.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As being a journalist, it is imperative to ensure that you know how to connect to people and how to connect with people. Ironically, every job I’ve ever held has dealt with customer service and honestly, I think it was divinely set that way so I could learn how to communicate personally and efficiently in any kind of setting. The Atlanta media scene is expanding as we speak and it’s so important that us journalists capture the culture, hence my business name being The In Crowd ATL. I’m only 23, but there are so many people my age and even younger than me that are making big moves in the city so, why not get in on all the action? Now honestly, when I started out, it wasn’t easy trying to balance college, work, and trying to manage a business. However, when doing what you really love, it never actually feels like work. And though there were times early on that made me feel discouraged, I had friends that supported my venture and I remembered that my purpose is to help others and their passions shine so it kept me pushing forward. I want people to know that The In Crowd ATL is literally here for the people and is a true testimony to my love for journalism that I’ve had since I’ve been 12 years old.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I live on the Eastside, one of my favorite hangout areas is Little 5 Points, specifically the record shop Criminal Records (I also like to write on modern music so I’m always looking for new records), the Vintage Warehouse thrift store, and Jack’s Pizza and Wings (it’s a few blocks from the 5 Points area but it’s great to eat and relax at after a long day). I am also an avid lover of breakfast food so I would definitely check out Atlanta Breakfast Club on Ivan Allen and Milk and Honey on Wesley Chapel. Ponce City Market is a very great shopping and eating area but, my favorite area is actually Atlantic Station that’s located Downtown. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, the Atlanta Streetwear Market is shut down but, their events are always a highlight for the underground scene and great place to meet ala kinds of creative directors, fashion designers, photographers, influencers, journalists, and just about anybody who is anybody in the Atlanta creative scene.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shout out my best friend, business partner, and The In Crowd ATL’s visual director Senaite Murray. She’s the one person that always makes me go harder and believe even more in The In Crowd ATL’s and my overall success. She brings life to every photo or interview she shoots and knows how to handle business with grace and professionalism.
