We had the good fortune of connecting with Dudley Music and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dudley, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
The two habits I try to practice the most is waking up early and writing down ideas and lists that will help me accomplish the most I can on a day to day basis.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an independent music artist and a multi-instrumentalist. The music I produce incorporates my abilities of rapping, singing and playing instruments such as saxophone, piano, flute or guitar. My music is an amalgamation of Hip-Hop, R&B, Jazz, Neo-Soul and Funk. I’ve had the opportunity to open for artists like Talib Kweli, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and even Gladys Knight. I can’t say it has been easy but what has helped me achieve these opportunities was the fact that I constantly contribute and represent my hometown and the area of Long Island. I know that if I give support than I may receive it in return. I also work hard to find the best ways to express myself through my music and my writing so that when it is time to be heard, my listeners are engaged and can connect with me on a deeper level.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shout out all the creatives of Long Island who work tirelessly to create and contribute to the art and music community. I would not be where I am today without the help from my friends Diego Garcia, Travis Calderon, Mario Calderon, James Barreiro and Jose Tutivan to name a few. It’s my brilliant peers that push me to be a better artist.
