We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ Partyallwknd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Honestly, risks and myself have become very best friends. I’ve taken risks my entire career. Stepping out and just believing what God told me to do and what He put in me has brought me a long way. It’s scary, frightening even, but in order to move forward you have to take that first step… and the first step is usually The Risk. I took a risk when I opened my first club. That led me full time DJING, I took a risk creating my own mixtapes that led me to writing my first film. I took a risk and moved to Atlanta to pursue my career, that led to this interview. I guess taking risk has been the biggest force to push me forward

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m Partyallwknd a DJ first and foremost and Filmmaker next. Whether it’s music or film, I love telling stories to people and helping them escape into a new world. What sets me apart is my brand of “Party Films” I’m a DJ who write, produces comedic party movies similar to ‘House Party’ and ‘Friday’. The thing I’m most excited about is the creation of my film brand, The Party World. A comedic, cinematic universe that all revolves around different parties telling a unique story. Producing and releasing my first feature film, Frat House is apart of that. I got where I am today through consistency, passion and faith. It was and still is NOT easy. But it wouldn’t be worth it if it was. I try to keep my eyes on the prize or the “finish line” to keep me going. As long as I see it I can overcome anything. I’ve learned over time, to always trust your gut instinct. If it feels real to you, it is! Act on it ASAP! What I want the world to know about me is I just want to entertain you. Whether it be parties or my party movies, I want you to escape reality and laugh, cry and party with me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d obviously take them to the bars lol. Some of my favorite spots are TenAtl, Bar Vegan, House of Hookah, The Trap Museum, Fin and Feathers, OurBarAtl and Bougalou Lounge especially on Fridays! Food wise we got to check out Old Lady Gang, Escobar Seafood and a Black Owned smoothie shop called Moorish Medicine out in Decatur.

Chefs kiss lol.

If they want nature action, Peidmont Park is so much fun, and Stone Mountain and you can never go wrong with The Battery.

One last spot, there’s a vinyl record store that is really dope called Criminal Records. Real good time for music lovers

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely, first God. Wouldn’t be here without Him. Secondly, my family always supporting me in what I do. Third, my team Hype!Vision Studios, they been with me from the jump of this whole thing (film) we’ve had ups and downs and we’re still here.
