We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ HercOnDaBeat and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
In the words of DJ Fresh “ In order to get something you never got, you got to do something you never had to do”. Simply meaning taking a risk can make you or break you, if you’re passionate about something and dedicated to do whatever it takes to get where you want to be you have to take risks. For me I took a big risk by leaving college and building my DJ career from the ground up. I had to put in my mind that I was going to be the outlet to help put artists and producers in my area on a bigger platform to get noticed and recognition. It hasn’t been easy at all but my hard work is definitely is starting to pay off

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well I’m a upcoming DJ and Podcast host of “LiveFromDaGutta Pod”. I’ve been Djing going on 2 years now and I’ve been grinding everyday to become one of the best to ever do it. It has it ups and downs at times but I’ve always had the never quit mentally so I when I get knocked down I just dust it off and learn from my situations. I’m blessed to be apart of the new music scene in my area (Woodbury Ga) with talented artists like 4K and Ro3cool. Coming from a city with a population less than a thousand it’s almost no chance making it big from where I’m from and that what makes me go even harder because I know I got a family to feed and I got people that rely on me, this past year really put me in a position to do big things in the future, I made DJ HercOnDaBeat a household name throughout my area and I released 2 projects that streamed almost over 10,000 streams together. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There is so many people that has been a inspiration on my journey that I don’t want to leave anybody out, but I have to shout out DJ TanQ, he’s someone i used to watch work during my time at University of West Georgia. He’s one of the reasons I really wanted to become a DJ. Also I have to shout out all the artists that show me genuine love especially in my city like Moneywave Cam, Ro3cool, Unkut Huncho, Trvps Wvvy, and 4K who is my co-host on my new podcast “LiveFromDaGutta”.
