We had the good fortune of connecting with Dj Acoff and we’ve shared our conversation below.
What role has risk played in your life or career?
I view taking risk as part of life. As people every day is a risk even the simple task we do involve risk. When we eat we risk getting food poisoning as an example, every time we drive we are taking a risk, etc.
However there are small risk that are almost required and bigger risk which we must take as people if we want to reach our true potential. Growth only happens outside of our comfort zones so if you truly want to achieve your dreams you must take a risk. Mark Zuckerberg once said “the biggest risk is not taking a risk at all”
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Dj, artist, actor, record executive, media personality, and entrepreneur, so I am a man of many trades. My art when it comes to Music is in the same space as DJ Khaled & Dj Drama both influenced me however I feel like I bring a unique side to the game because of who I am & my background. My father was killed when I was 5 years old and I am 1 of 21 children. This was a major factor in me being who I am today.
I got where I am today professionally through hundreds of hours of hard work and dedication. Ive worked with hundreds of different artist and put everything I have into the music industry. It hasn’t been easy but in life nothing is suppose to be easy especially when you have bigger dreams & goals. The biggest lesson I learned along the way is to never give up no matter how difficult things may seem. I want the world to view me and my story as an inspiration
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The main thing we will be doing is going to the Studio because thats where I spent most of my time while I’m in Atlanta. While not at the studio as far as night life we would probably go to the Buckhead Bars, Escobar, Elleven45, and many of the other clubs and bars in Atlanta. We would eat at K & K Soul Food, Merkerson Fish Market, The Southern Gentleman, Roasters Rotisserie, Benihana or food from one of the strip clubs.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my hometown Bessemer, Alabama. Growing up in Bessemer isn’t easy because we didn’t have a whole lot except Family. Bessemer is a major part of the reason I am who I am today.
